My problem with the word sorry.

The word itself isn't what bothers me. It's when you hear it a million times, you eventually begin to realize something. I told my friend that I am not going to say sorry for all the bad things that happened. But that I would offer him comfort and advice. That if he always stayed proud of where he was, everything will get better. I told him that I won't say sorry because when someone tells you all the bad things that they are going through, they don't want sympathy and many believe that they do. Or at least the people I met. All anyone wants is for you to listen to them and to know that you will be there for them. So, I won't say sorry. I will listen. I know I don't want to hear sorry. It's a fill in word for the words we can't find to say. If you can't find anything to say, hug them. It goes further than sorry. Not that there is anything wrong with saying sorry. But you go through enough hell and hear it enough times, eventually it loses it's meaning. Don't give up. You are a survivor. You are strong. Your beautiful. Your brave! Keep going! Nothing will be better than the joy that you receive as a reward for being a valiant soldier. I guarantee you the reward will come. Don't give up.
