"Hey Matthew!" It was Cassie, and she was heading right for our end of the pool.

"Oh crap! Cassie's heading over here. I'll see you later!" Matthew jumped out of the pool and bolted without looking back. I guess Cassie's group was done sunbathing.

I laughed to myself and swam over to where Susana was hanging out with the younger girls. I gave my sister a look and said, "Um, hello? You left me earlier?"

"I think you were doing just fine." Susie said with a smirk. What did that even mean? I didn't understand her sometimes.

"That Cassie girl is coming over here." One of the younger girls pointed out.

I took a spot next to my sister and we exchanged worried looks. Cassie was coming our way and we had no idea why. We all got quiet. Great. What does she want?

Sure enough, Cassie, Nicci and Danielle swam up to our group and stopped.

"Hey Hernandez sisters!  So, you both have been spending a lot of time with those two cute brothers...who do you like?" Cassie said pointing a finger at me. Nicci waved hi and looked bored.

"I don't like anybody!" I stammered laughing nervously and ran my hands through the water.

"Well, what about you Susana?" Cassie demanded turning to her.

"I don't know what you're talking about," Susana answered in a bored and sarcastic tone and her entourage giggled.

"Whatever.  Well, I think Matthew is fine. He's tall, muscular, and has a hot butt!" Cassie gushed. We rolled our eyes at her last comment. I wasn't surprised Cassie had giant crush on Matthew, a blind person could have seen that one coming.

"You totally act like you like Daniel. I've seen the way you flirt with him." Cassie was pointing her finger at me again and I had to decide if I wanted the entire camp to know my crush.

"Well, yeah. He's kinda cute but so is Matthew." I shared quickly, trying to sound noncommittal.

"Daniel's adorable!" Danielle chimed in, making splashes with her hands. "He's my favorite! Plus, he's really funny."

"So, Susana - which one do you like?" Cassie was not going to let this go. She was not going leave until she got an answer out of Susana.

"Daniel is cute, I guess." Susana admitted acting like she was bored with Cassie.

I looked over at my sister and tried not to overreact. Was she trying to say she liked Daniel too? Nooooo. This couldn't be a repeat of last summer when we liked the same guy and he ended up being her summer boyfriend. Whywhywhywhywhy?

"I think Matthew would be hot if he wasn't so weird." Nicci mentioned. She generally tried to remain on neutral grounds with Cassie and even if she did like Matthew, she wasn't going to admit it.

Cassie seemed satisfied with everyone's answers and felt like she could move on. She had gotten the confirmation she needed - no one else was going to own up to having a crush on Matthew so she had basically "claimed" him. Ugh, she was so annoying. And now I was trying to figure out if my sister really like Daniel or if she had said what she did to avoid drama with Cassie. Either way, there were way too many of us who were crushing on Daniel.

After Cassie and her swam away, Susana and I jumped out of the pool and got dressed. We - or she really - decided we would go pay a visit to Matthew and Daniel and nonchalantly mention what we had just learned. It was a bitchy move on our part, but it was going to be fun!

As we walked over the grassy space next to the pool, the adorable eleven year-old Storm ran up next to me.

"Hey, what are ya'll up to?" He was all sweaty from the heat and it took everything I had in me to not act like a mom and wipe off his face off.
