Carmela's POV
I didn't walk into Romeo's outstretched arms, I just walked past him and back up the stairs I descended earlier, after saying my bit. I wanted nothing more than to extend my killing spree and wrap my fingers around my grandfather's neck and snap it with my bare hands. I wanted this to be done with, if he thought he could come after me again and get away with it then he had another thing coming I raged, but he was a coward that would hide behind his spies and his lackies to do all his bidding and do nothing for himself. He would never face me himself in fear he would lose to me, his progeny.
I screamed frustratedly as I threw punch after punch at the wall when the door to the basement wouldn't open for me as I didn't have proper access. My knuckles were raw and bleeding from being ripped open on the hard stone I attacked. "Rose?" I side eyed Romeo as he approached me slowly. I could see that me completely losing control wasn't something he had witnessed before and he didn't know how to handle the situation, and with the hormones of an irritated and uncomfortable 36 week pregnant women it only made everything worse. I eyed every movement he made and positioned myself to attack with a dagger in my hand.
He stopped as he saw the glint of light bounce of f the blade of the dagger and raised his hands in defence. "Let me open the door for you." I stepped to the side but didn't relax my stance. "Thank you, but don't come near me unless you have my grandfather for me." I raged as I backed out of the door and slowly walked towards the stairs. Melanie eyed me from the balcony railing knowing where I have just come from and the blood stain, she would know wasn't mine, which only left one person who it could belong too. I saw her take a deep gulp but said nothing.
Timo's POV
I watched Carmela from the bottom of the basement stairs her threat and the look of unyielding rage was clear. She had a taste for blood, and nothing would be able to satisfy it until we had a proper plan on how to get to her grandfather. "I'll go and keep a watch of the east dock's with Lorenzo." I slapped Romeo on the back as I passed him on the stairs, he looked like a broken man. Unable to organise his thoughts on how to help her. "Enzo, will you get the Rocco to deal with the body." He nodded sliding his phone out his pocket and dialling Rocco's number. "Romeo. Romeo." He looked up at me. "Go to her, you know you're the only one that can calm her. Get her to plan the attack with you if you must." He snapped out of his trance and joined me at the top step as we exchanged a knowing look before I continued onto the security room to join Lorenzo.
Enzo's POV
I went in search of Mel after I had helped Rocco with the clean-up. I knew she would already know that Leo is dead, but I still needed to see her, be with her and help her deal with her pain f she wanted me too. It was logical to think that although they were estranged didn't mean she wouldn't feel his death deeply, he was her brother, her flesh and blood. She was upset with herself for delivering that shot that brought him down and ultimately lead him to be captured.
"Mel." I called to her through her bedroom door but got no reply. I looked up and down the hall contemplating where she could be but was at a loss. My room maybe. Again nothing. "What are you doing in here?" I heard Romeo's voice bellow down the hall and ran towards his office. As I slid to a stop at the door, I saw Mel at Romeo's desk, as he seethed from the other side of his desk. It made no sense as too why she was in his office at all. "I came to deliver this." She handed over an envelope that he didn't take from her, she gulped loudly. "I went to where we found Leo and did some digging." She lifted the envelope towards him again, and again he didn't take it from her. "I took photos." She voiced worry clear in her voice while opening the envelope and placing the photos out in front of Romeo.
I approached the desk wanting to see the photos for myself, and also to stop Romeo if he were to move towards Mel. "Why are you in my office. Alone." Romeo repeated pronouncing each word separately. "I knew you were busy with... him and I didn't want to disturb you. So was going to leave the file here with a note. See." She lifted up a sticky note that she had handwritten. "Mel was only trying to help." I stated calmly as I thumbed through the photos, Romeo hadn't moved his eyes from Mel yet and ii was getting nervous. I paused as I got to a photo of an older man in a suit and fedora. "Vincent." Romeo grabbed the photo from my hands and eyed it eagerly. "He was at the warehouse?" Mel nodded her reply. "I didn't know that was him or else I would have called you sooner." Her voice was so small that I could help going to her.
Romeo's POV
"Timo, office now." I ordered not my phone I needed this sighting verified, I still didn't trust Mel and finding her in my office didn't help the situation. She wouldn't be able to find much as its all locked down and only, I have access but that's not the point. "What's up?" Timo asked while entering the room. I handed him the stack of photos and let him look through them before I asked for verification.
"Well, is it him at the warehouse?" Timo scrutinised the photos and then looked at Mel. "You got them today?" He asked sceptical. "Yes, I was at the southside of the building. There's an entrance there and a small dock that he departed from before going inside." He nodded. "Thank you, Mel. You did good today." She smiled and made for the door, knowing she was being dismissed.
"Is what she says true?" I questioned Timo again. He pursed his lips. "What? You don't believe her?" Enzo questioned in bewilderment. "I don't trust her." Was my simple answer. "Seriously. She has done nothing to warrant your distrust." Enzo defended her but I ignored him. This argument was pointless. "There is an entrance at the southside of the building." Timo started as Enzo made a hand gesture as if that proved she was telling the truth. "But there hasn't been any activity there all day." Enzo straightened himself in surprise. "What? But she said-" I cut him off by raising my hand. "Has there been any developments today?" Timo placed the photos back down on the desk and typed onto the keyboard. "There were some men coming and going today but it was at the back entrance not the southside." He pulled up the footage and let it play. Sure enough Vincent was seen entering the warehouse. "So she got the side of the building wrong, that's no big deal." Enzo again defended Mel. "No that isn't a big deal. What is a big deal is not one of our cameras have any footage of her." Enzo shrugged not getting Timo's point. "There are 3 cameras spanning that entire area, it's not possible for not one camera to get a glimpse of her." Enzo's thoughts started to waver as he knew Timo was very thorough in his camera placement.
"So when do we attack?" Carmela's voice rang from the corner of my office, I didn't even know she was there until now. "How... How long have you been there?" She shrugged. "Long enough to know that Mel wasn't lying but wasn't telling the whole truth either." She stood from her chair and walked over to us. "She had a little mosey round your desk before writing that note, she wasn't aware I was here either. It seems only Timo knew I were." Mine and Enzo's heads turned towards Timo as he looked sheepishly at us. "I saw her as I looked up from the laptop, I assumed you knew she was there" He shrugged.
"I've looked over your attack plans." She waved them in my hands, "There's just one problem with them." I could tell she was severely pissed. "I'm not on them." She spat as she threw the papers at us. "I will be there, I will be involved, and you knew the best part? None of you can't stop me." How do I solve this. "Carmela, please be reasonable. Your heavily pregnant it's not safe." Her anger drove her meaningfully to the desk, as she passed the chair, she snagged a piece of paper that landed there, she slammed it down to the desk and stabbed to the desk with her dagger.
"I will be here, a safe distance from the actual advance but not too far away that I can't kill anyone." I was reluctant to look down at the paper I presume is a map, in fear of this women before me. This person wasn't my Rose this person was possessed, driven by anger and revenge. She was the Heatless Queen. Soulless and violent. I ached to get my Rose back to hold her in my arms. I hoped that she would come back to me if I appeased her. "That sounds reasonable, we attack tonight." A cruel smile emerged from her lips, but her demeanour didn't change as she left the office.
"Fuck, she's scary." Enzo broke the awkward tension of the room, but all I could do was stare in aww of this woman. "Get everyone ready." I ordered and both men left my office and me to my thoughts. This is not going to be easy, but we were prepared.
