Romeo's POV

"On my signal, each take out 1 guard, let's dwindle their numbers." I was curious if they would replace the dead or not. Surprise attack was all we had on our side, so we had to work quickly as the sun was starting to lighten the nights sky. "Three, two, one. Shoot." Simultaneously men drop to the floor each one dead as they landed. As no gunshots were heard the remaining men were in a state of confusion and fired aimlessly not the woods. Ducking behind trees or boulders not one of their bullets made contact, but double the amount of men came to their aid.

"Again." I commanded as their shooting slowed and again men fell silently to their deaths as we retaliated. This caused a chain reaction of Vincent's remaining men to retreat into the house and lay in wait for us to enter.

I launched the grenade up onto the balcony essentially taking our that turret gun and that entrance and exit was no longer accessible. "Timo, any exits on that side other than windows." I wanted only one way in and out of this place to avoid any surprises. "The windows are boarded up like yours." Okay that left the back entrance. "Lorenzo, any activity on your side?" I signalled for the team to all move out and in a southern direction. "Some movement. I think there fortifying this entrance." I nodded, that was the only option I had left them with. As we were moving round, I felt as though someone was watching me. Their familiar eyes piercing into my back, but I couldn't see anyone. My gut was telling me that something was amiss.

I peered between the board that I thought were at the dining room window. I could see the room was empty, the room was like a secondary living room but derelict in appearance. The fireplace was the only recognisable piece of furnishings on the far wall. As I pressed harder on the wooden board, I found it to be loose. "Timo lead the team I'm going in through a window. Don't move until I say." I didn't expect a reply as he was probably just getting to the other guys now. With a little force and as not much noise I managed to pry the board off and slipped inside unnoticed, I replaced the board so to not arouse suspicion.

I crept round the room seeing if there were other ways of escape, zip tying double door handles together as a trap. I looked through the gaps in the doors and walls to try and pinpoint where Vincent's men were. Some of their men were in the foyer, but only 2, I couldn't see upstairs from this angle. I crossed the corridor into another open room this was similar to the one was in, but the amount of shelving gave it away as a library. Again I tied doors together and saw that the majority of men were towards the back on the house. The kitchen to be precise, if only I had another grenade that was a perfect opportunity for one.

One tall looking man came to the library as I kicked over a small piece of discarded wood making his suspicious. I hid behind the door and crouched down hoping he wouldn't see me before he entered the room. He noiselessly entered the room gun up eying the room, I needed him to take another step into the room where I could try to take him down undetected. I willed for him to take another step, but he was just about the leave the room when he noticed my zip ties on the doors. He lifted his hand to press the earpiece, he was going to blow the whistle someone was in the house. It was now of never, I sprang from behind the door plunged my knife deep into his neck and held his mouth to muffle his cries. "Pete? Pete you seen something?" Another man called to the now dead guy and I placed his body with me behind the sofa. "Pet-" This guy didn't get to finish his sentence before he succumb to the same fate. I hid both bodies behind the sofa, relieving them both of their machine guns and loosely draped a sheet over to hide them. "Get ready." I called to the team. And made my assault on the kitchen with all the bullets that the 2 machine guns had, all hell had been let loose as bullets flew through the air, men shouting, and cries of pain were heard. "Now, now, now, now." I roared over the sounds filling the house and threw the guns as they were out of bullets and my men were bursting through the back door killing off the survivors left in the kitchen. I lost sight of Timo after that as the whole place was in turmoil, people were engaged in fights from all angles, some upstairs, some down, but as the house quietened was exhausted and bleeding from a shot to the arm and randomly scattered cuts. A single gunshot brought my attention to the ceiling. Rose.
