James held both her letters in his hands. He was sat with his elbows resting on his knees. The fire illuminating his pale face. Lars worried how silent he had fell after reading Diana's notes. He thought about saying something but just stayed there watching James mourn over something he didn't know yet what it was but by James' painful semblance he assumed it was something serious. He watched as he smashed the papers within his hands and then threw them into the fire, then he got up. James walked up to the window and stood near it with his hands shoved in the pockets of his trousers. It was snowing outside. He then put both hands on the back of his neck as if stretching himself and sighed. He was deciding something. Lars knew he was thinking and processing information. That was his way of doing so.

"What?" Lars asked not taking it anymore.

"He's taking her to India." James simply said. His tone was sad and involved with a bit of despair.

"You had to see this coming." Lars told him hoping some good judgment would hit him, but James was just too passionate for rational judgments.

"I should have killed him when I had the chance!" He cursed turning around fast to face Lars. Lars got up and walked near him. The despair he was seeing in his eyes could be dangerous if not fatal.

"Calm down." He told his Sire and put a hand on his shoulder. James jerked him away almost violently. His eyes showing the anger he was feeling that moment, shinning green like the eyes of a cat in the dark.

"I'LL KILL HIM!" He yelled possessed by his evil spirit. He took a hand to the table and dragged all cutlery to the floor. China smashed in tiny pieces. Lars couldn't care less about that, maybe Angela would for she was still too attached to her human feelings. But he was not, he was worried about his friend.

"You will not." Lars told him firmly. James looked at him outraged with his comment. How dare he? He was his superior, his Sire! "Listen to me..." Lars approached him again and shaken him to call his senses. "He's her daughter's father! How do you think she would feel if she knew you'd take away Jack from her little girl?"

Lars was right and James hated when he was right. James looked away and Lars let go of him, he knew he had stroke him with good words. Or he thought he had, but James was simply remembering the last words of one of Diana's letters "You should see her..." There was something implied in the sentence that made James shudder ever since he read it but he said nothing about it. He should not even form that thought in his mind though it had been there since the beginning, since he learned no one but him could hear Diana's baby. It was dangerous. It was very dangerous and no one could even suspect it. He decided that he wouldn't share anything on the matter, not even with the members of his brood.

"I must go there." James said determined. Lars opened his mouth to speak without a sound, then he cleared his throat.

"You can't!" He exclaimed. "You know what she came here to tell you, it's dangerous James."

"She also said in one of the letters that everything was quiet now." He argued. Nothing was going to make him change his mind. He was going to Winchester even if it meant danger.

"I don't think you should go. Look... her husband might catch you there. He might tell the truth to the priest James. Don't play with fire. A wounded husband is capable of the most horrendous things and he loves her above all." Lars called for his reason.

"And what do I do? Do I sit here and watch him do whatever he wants with her?" James asked frustrated.

"As sad as it is, yes. He's her husband. He has all the right to decide to go away and you know why he's doing that. You would do the same if you were in his shoes, James. He is just trying to save his family and keep Diana with him. Can you condemn him for doing that?"
