Diana looked at her figure in the mirror and watched it for a few seconds. Julia had just left from helping to dress her up for the ceremony. In the garden the murmur from the guests was already heard. The day was rather warm but the sky was deep gray though. It was menacing to rain, but then they say a wedding was blessed when it rained. She looked out at the window, behind the curtains, so she wasn't seen and everybody was already there. Jack was bouncing his legs nervously standing by his father's side in front of the altar. The vicar was reading the ceremony book, probably choosing the best passages. Diana came back to the mirror and looked at herself again. There were some black shadows under her eyes and she felt exhausted. And sad... it was hard to breathe, as if her lungs wouldn't expand enough for her to breathe normally.

She loved Jack, she didn't have a doubt about that but it was some different kind of love. James leaving broke her heart in unexpected ways, even for her. She couldn't bear the fact that she wouldn't play for him anymore, or read out loud for him. Hear his voice or the sound of his laughter. See his deep blue eyes again or even his pale skin. That broke her heart immensely. She couldn't imagine what life would be like without him even if as a third part in it. At least he was there. It was selfish of her to think so, she knew it but she'd rather have him there that way than not at all as he had imposed by deciding to leave. Though, she fully understood his reasons. If it was the other way around, she would leave too.

With these thoughts crossing her mind she ran a hand over her belly. It had been just a week since she had discovered that she was expecting a baby but she already loved it with all her soul and heart. A soft smile widened her lips thinking it would be a little girl, though she assumed Jack would prefer to have the male heir. For that she had to marry him without looking back or having any doubts. She couldn't have a baby alone, society would condemn her and the child would be a bastard and she knew Jack would be a good father. He already gave signs of that. The way he talked about the baby, or the way he sometimes ran his hand over her belly when no one was watching, or even when he said he wouldn't mind it to be a girl only because he knew she wanted a little girl. Jack was like that, always trying to please her and pampering her. She couldn't deny he would make her happy.

A knock on the door yanked her from her trance. Her heart raced nervously. It must have been Constantine to tell her it was time to go. She walked up to the door and opened it with trembling hands, confirming her suspicions. Her father, perfectly dressed, smiled at her. Her lips trembled and she smiled but her tears fell down her face at the same time. If she wasn't pregnant Diana knew that very second she would run away from there. She was suffocating.

"I'm sorry." She said cleaning her face, but Constantine pulled her inside.

"Is that nervousness or you're sad? You can't be sad on your wedding day my daughter. It's a day of happiness, the most important day of your life."

"I know..." She said but the choke in her voice didn't make her too convincing.

"Are you having second thoughts? You can't have second thoughts now. Look...I know it seems scary, but in the end it's not." Constantine grabbed Diana's hands in his trying to comfort her. Deep inside he knew where her pain came from.

"I am not having second thoughts." She lied. There were second thoughts.

"Everyone is waiting for the bride." Constantine looked in her blue eyes, distracting her from the thought. "You look beautiful my darling." He kissed her forehead. "Jack is a lucky man."

"I am lucky as well." She responded but that time just trying to convince herself of that fact.

"The master is already in London." Constantine told her before she closed the door behind her. Diana's head turned to look at him quite fast. Her heart raced so much that moment she thought she was going to faint. It was desperate to think of him that far away and at the same time to fight the will she has had ever since to go to London too after him.
