James and Diana left Casper's palace hand in hand though James felt her grip tighter than ever. He was not sure if that was fear or protection but given her reaction he knew she was protective rather than fearful. Or maybe just a little of both. Since she didn't open her mouth to speak he also fell silent. Some of Casper's words were ringing in his mind, like when he said only pure and true love could generate a child, or that they had to leave town and take Megan with them. Maybe Casper knew more than he was saying and just didn't want to scare them more.

"I have to go back." He said taking his hand away. Diana looked at him.

"What for?" She asked. "Haven't you heard everything you wanted?"

"No.." James shook his head. "I need to go there still." He said.

Diana stared at him for a few seconds and then it was her turn to shake her own head. "Please don't go." She asked him.

He placed both his hands on her shoulders. She knew that gesture all too well. He was going to reason her. "I am going back there, and you stay here." He said looking in her eyes. "I don't want you back there."

"But..." She started. He covered her mouth with his cold hand. His blue eyes pierced hers.

"You stay here and wait for me." He reassured. Diana nodded.

"Be careful." She asked. James knew she had felt something. Her powers were revealing. Soon he had to tell her how strong she was and what she could do with her powers.

"I will be safe." He said placing a kiss on her forehead. Some restless feeling caught her, and she locked her eyes on his.

"I don't trust them." She said. "I know something is wrong. I don't know what it is, but something is wrong..."

"I know you do." He kissed her lips sweetly. "I will be fine. Trust me." He said then and Diana forced a smile.

"I love you." She told him before he was gone, then she crossed her arms around her chest and watched him disappear in the darkness.

"My lady..." She heard Ralph calling her. Diana turned to look at him. "Maybe you should come inside my lady... the night is chilly."

She smiled and then shook her head. "I am fine Ralph. Thank you." She said feeling as restless as one could be.

Her insides were pulsing in agony. She regretted she had let him go inside alone. Some instinct was telling her something was not right, but James was more experienced than her. He was an older vampire so he should know better. Diana began to pace around in short steps trying to divert her mind. Only minutes had been gone and it seemed like an eternity to her.

"My lady?" She heard a familiar voice calling her. Diana turned around.

"Aziz!" She exclaimed surprised.

"My lady..." He whispered with his eyes wide opened and approaching her. "I thought you were dead..." He added faintly.

"I..." Diana was caught by surprise. "I got better Aziz. How are you?" She tried to disguise. She wanted to hold her old friend, but she knew she couldn't. She was not sure if that was a good thing at all.

Aziz opened his mouth to speak but closed it the next second. His eyes raked her figure from feet to toe. He was as surprise as one can be.

"You look perfect my lady." He said then. "How is Megan?"

"Growing up." Diana answered. "I live in London now. What are you doing here?"

"I work in a farm nearby."
