That Night--Sonya's POV~
I was in my human form as I slipped into Jim's basement, I landed on the wood floor with bare feet. I gave a soft grunt before reaching back to fix up my hair, I pulled it up and back, wrapping it up in a bun at the base of my skull. I then moved to my bed of blankets and old clothes before hunkering down. I lay on my side, facing the furnace, one arm tucked under my head as I slipped into a soft sleep.
But this sleep . . . was anything but peaceful.
Fire. It danced around me like some serpent against the blackness. These flames hissed and spat, lurching up every now and then before settling, only to rear up once more. I looked down, seeing I was in my Loboan form and . . . covered in wounds? I wasn't seeing things, at least I think I wasn't, my limps were clawed and bleeding, bite marks littered my shoulders and legs. But I felt no pain.
I looked around and something rose to my throat, "Jim! Claire! Toby!" Why was I calling their names?
"Arrrgh! Blinky!" I held my hands to my muzzle as I called them, trying to amplify my voice, "Draal!"
But all I was met with were roaring flames. I began panicking, I crouched on all fours and ran through the fire, the orange flames singeing my brown coat. I jumped over a wall of fire and landed in a crouch, before creeping forward on all fours, supporting my weight on my knuckles. My head was lowered as I snarled, before I heard a crunch under my arm. I backed up and looked down,
"No . . ." I gasped, seeing Daylight laying there, shattered. I then looked up and let out a horrified roar.
Jim, Claire and Toby . . . slaughtered. Laying in their own blood. Blinky and Arrrgh were the same. Draal. Where was Draal?!
"Raaaaaah!"
My ears snapped up upon hearing it, it was Draal's battle cry. I turned around and rose to my two legs. Draal was battling something out of a nightmare. It looked Loboan enough, but it ran about on all fours, it's legs were double jointed, teeth yellow and rotting, eyes bloodshot and wild.
"Stay away!" Draal held up his axe with his good arm, his fake had been ripped off.
The rouge only giggled and tackled Draal, biting into his thick neck with rotting teeth.
"NO!" I screeched
"Draal-!" I sat bolt upright, panting hard. Sweat covered my entire body, shaking my shirt and pants. My hair fell around my shoulders in a haggard mess. I held my head and flopped back, biting my lip,
"Damnit . . ." I grit my teeth, feeling tears well up.
I then heard shifting beside me, I looked over seeing Draal had fallen asleep next to me. I sat up, looking at him, before brushing tears from my eyes.
Draal grumbled softly and opened an eye, "Sonya?" he braced himself up on his elbows and looked at me, "Are you--" he stopped short, "Why are you crying?"
I sniffled, "Nightmare." I mumbled irritably.
Draal sighed and sat up all the way and gripped my hand, "Sonya, look at me," he cupped my face, I looked up at him. Draal tensed up, "Sonya, you're so pale."
I sighed and looked away, "I'm a little shaken." I admitted, balling my knees up to my chest.
"So I can gather," he scooted closer, "do you . . . wish to talk about it?" he peaked a brow.
I cleared my throat, "You, Blinky, Everyone . . . they . . . they were killed by . . . something that looked like a Loboan." I sighed deeply.
Draal's shoulders slumped, "I- Sonya . . ." he pulled me to his chest and stroked my hair, "I'm not going anywhere." he murmured.
I shut my eyes and bit my lip, "I know." I whispered. "Still scared the hell outta me."
Draal chuckled and pulled away, cupping my face, "I'm surprised," be brushed a tear from my cheek, "Considering how hard it is to scare you on a normal day."
I giggled at his words, "Knock it off, Horn Head." I punched him in the shoulder playfully.
Draal growled and picked me up, setting me on his lap, before laying back down. I pressed my forehead to his and gave him a kiss on the nose. Draal gave a hum and nuzzled into my neck,
"Sleep well, Sonya."
I sighed and rested my head on his jaw, "G'night Draal."
