Sonya's POV~
I had left Draal's side once we were in Trollmarket, making my way to the healing dwell, while Draal made his way to the Forge to work with Jim. I stayed in my human form as I ducked in and out between the crowds of Trolls, trying to be subtle and discreet. Eventually, I made my way into the healing dwell, where I saw Vendel leaning over a book of some kind.
"Uh, Vendel?" I called, taking in the glowing amber-like crystals of Trollmarket's Heartstone all around me.
Vendel looked up, "Ah, if it isn't the Loboan," he gestured for me to come forward, "Step forward, child, do not be shy."
I peaked a brow and approached, keeping my wits about me, Vendel smiled and patted the stone table, "Up you go." he urged.
With a soft grunt, I pulled myself up onto the table and sat there with my hands in my lap, my legs swinging back and forth. I bit my lower lip and kept my gaze downward as Vendel examined my wounds and bruises, his hands where cold to my skin, his palms rough.
I sighed softly, as Vendel made me turn my head to the right then to the left, he examined my neck where a bruise was forming from an attempt of choking by Gunmar. After a few more movements and awkward examinations, Vendel sighed and backed away from me,
"Thankfully, these wounds are well on the mend." he gave me a soft smile, "You are very lucky."
I nodded, "Thanks, Vendel, but," I pointed to the bandage on my head, "what about this?" I asked softly.
Vendel's face fell, "That is another matter," he sighed, "Decimaar pierced your skin, and wounded you there," he walked over to another table to get a cloth, "it's shocking enough that you were not corrupted by the blade, but, for all we know, it could still be open and bleeding." he deduced.
I looked down, "Well, a scar is a scar. . ." I rubbed the back of my neck as Vendel came back over with a ragged cloth.
"Tip your head up, child." he told me.
I lifted my chin and closed my eyes, I felt the white bandage being ripped from my brow, I winced a little bit, ad I heard Vendel gasp, "Great Gronka Morka . . ." me whispered.
I blinked and opened my eyes, "What? Is it bad?" I asked, fearing his answer.
Vendel reached over and grabbed a reflective crystal, "Just, brace yourself." he held it up to my face and I gasped at the sight.
The scar was red/brown, going from my right temple down to the center of my forehead, it was ragged, big and it wasn't fading anytime soon. I reached up and touched it before I sighed deeply,
"Well, there's nothing more that can be done . . ." I mumbled.
Vendel nodded, "I could attempt some spells to hide the scar-"
"No, Vendel," I cut him off, "If this is how it looks, then this is how it looks, I shouldn't hide from it." I touched my forehead again.
"Sonya!"
I looked up seeing Jim, Claire and Toby run in, followed by Blinky and Arrrgh. Jim froze as he saw my scar, "Oh, no . . ."
"Whoa . . . awesome scar!" Toby laughed.
Claire smacked him on the back of the head, "Not cool, T.P."
"Oh, uh, sorry, Sonya . . ." Toby quickly apologized.
I waved it off, "It's alright guys . . ."
Vednel looked at me then to the others, "Alright, you've fondled over her enough, out! Out with the lot of you!" he began shooing them out, and he followed.
"But, why Vendel?" Blinky asked.
"She obviously needs time to compensate what has happened. Shoo! Shoo!" he continued urging the others out, until the vanished out the entrance with Vendel in toe, leaving me alone in the Healing Dwell.
I held my head, and looked down to the floor, tears filling my eyes a little bit. It felt like a crushing weight on my shoulders, knowing I had this horrific scar on my head for the world to see.
"Sonya?"
I looked up seeing Draal walking in, I then looked away my bangs covering the scar, "Hey, Draal."
Draal looked over his shoulder, "I saw Vendel chasing the others, what happened?" he asked, some humor laced in his tone.
I turned my head up to look at him, my brows rose. Draal froze as he came up to me, and he slowly reached out with his mechanical had and lifted the bangs from my forehead.
"Deya's Grace . . ." his eyes went huge at the sight.
I fiddled with my hands, "Yeah, it's bad . . ."
Draal looked around to ensure we were alone, before he got closer to me, "Oh, Sonya," he cupped my face, "I do not care how it makes you look," he pressed his forehead to mine, "I love you, for who you are."
I smiled softly, "Thanks, Draal, I love you too."
