Third Person~
So, there Draal was, alone with a wounded Sonya Wolf. He looked over at her and swallowed thickly, before he inched his way over to her. He then looked down at her, and felt the urge to cuddle her, keep her close to his chest.
Draal reached out with his good hand and touched her arm, wincing at how cold her arm was. Draal pulled his arm away then pulled the blanket over her arms and shoulders. Sonya shifted a little bit, and settled again, her breath hitching with pain.
"I wish there was some way to help the pain . . ." Draal mumbled softly, "as much as you annoy me, Sonya, I . . ." he froze, "And I am now talking to an unconscious puppy. Rock-for-brains, get your act together." he scolded.
"N-no . . ."
Draal looked down, seeing Sonya twitching in her sleep, "N-no . . .no . . ." she convulsed.
"Hey, stop that," Draal scolded, "You will re-open that wound." he told her.
Sonya rolled over, shaking, "N-no . . . G-Gunmar . . .get . . ." she held her head.
Draal's shoulders slumped, realizing what was happening. He reached out and clutched Sonya's shoulder, forgetting his self control,
"Sonya!" he shook her.
Sonya's eyes snapped open and she shot up, "N-No!" she the coughed, spitting out blood, "Ska!" she cursed in Loboan tongue, holding her side.
"Deya's Grace, Loboan," he held her shoulders, "why can't you simply sleep?" he demanded.
Sonya spat out more blood and held her side, "It hurts . . ." she bowed her head, "It hurts so much . . ." she began shaking hard.
Draal froze up, not really knowing what to do, "Uh, Sonya. . .?" he held her shoulders, "Um, I-"
"Draal, I'm sorry . . ." Sonya gasped, shaking with pain, "I'm sorry for getting hurt, I'm sorry for dragging you and Jim and the others into this I'm . . ." she looked up at him, her eyes filled with tears, "I'm so sorry for being a burden to you. I really am just a stupid puppy. . . " she hugged her bandaged body, and hiccuped as he cried softly.
Draal was like a deer in the headlights, he had no idea what to do. Where is all of this coming from? he then cleared his throat, "Sonya, please, calm down." he decided to try and calm her before talking her, he rubbed her shoulder, feeling her muscles ripple under her skin.
Sonya sniffled, "D-Draal I . . ." she cried into her hands.
Draal looked down, before he decided to do something virtually unthinkable, he slid his hands under Sonya's legs and pulled her into his lap. Why did he do it? He may never know. Draal held her to his chest, not caring that the only thing overing her upper half was bloody bandages.
"Dry your eyes." He told her, "No one here blames you for anything. It was our choice to come here and assist you."
Sonya looked up at him, "B-But . . . I-" she coughed , then winced in pain.
Draal met her eyes, "I am not mad that you got injured," he pulled her close, feeling her shiver from the cold stone around them, "and I do not hold it against you. And, most importantly," he took a deep breath, "I do not think you are a stupid puppy, I simply call you that to rile you up and get a reaction out of you. Like how you call me Horn Head." He grumbled the last bit slightly.
Sonya sniffled, "And Guard Dog, don't forget that one." she joked.
"You called me that once." Draal retorted, peaking a brow.
"When you tried to split me in half with your axe," Sonya shot back, "heh." She brushed tears from her eyes, before she shivered again.
Draal clicked his tongue, "Meh, also true." he then looked down at her, "Are you alright now?" he asked, his expression soft.
Sonya didn't meet his eyes, "Y-Yeah . . . I just . . . don't think I can sleep." she mumbled, her arms folded over her chest.
Draal peaked a brow, "You need sleep, especially with an injury like that."
"Draal I had a nightmare," Sonya muttered, seeming to be embarrassed she was giving into fear, "Gunmar he-"
Draal sighed, cutting her off, "So be it." he then laid her down and pulled the blanket up over her form, "I'll stay here, if you wish." he sat by her head.
Sonya blinked up at him before she smiled and let her head go limp, it rested against Draal's arm, "Thanks, Stone Skin." she mumbled softly, her hair falling before her face.
Draal watched her drift into sleep, his expression very soft, "Hm, rest well, Sonya." he stroked her head a little bit as the fire died, the only light shining now were the crystals embedded in the cave walls and the dim lanterns overhead.
