Chapter 4 The Silent Girl

As Seth and Lavender walk through town he remembers he has to pick up his sister from school. He suddenly changes his direction towards the school as Lavender quickly follows seeing where he's heading. She looks up at him with a small smile, "You forget about your little sister?", she asks a bit surprised. He looks down at her with a small smile before responding, "Well I was going to walk you home first but then I realized the time, you don't mind coming along right?", he asks as he walks with her, she smiles at him before looking ahead as the school comes into view, "No I don't mind, I haven't seen you adorable little sister in a while", she says as they walk up towards the school. Seth stops seeing all the kids outside but not his sister, he notes there are less kids then usual and starts to get a bit worried, he walks up to one of the kids and kneels down to their level, "Hey Sibra, do you know where Steel is?", he asks the little girl with a sweet smile. The young girl looks up at him hearing his question about her best friend and notices it's her friends eldest brother, she smiles at him and nods pointing in a direction of where she last saw Steel and responds, "I saw her go that way she said something about the bullies picking on the new girl so she wanted to get her away from them", she says with a smile. Seth smiles at the girl gently patting her head and thanking her, he stands and heads in the general direction she was pointing as Lavender follows him. As the two walk they realize the kids were off school property which is dangerous.
Seth walks off the property with Lavender close behind and hears screaming coming from the right and heads towards it. Lavender hearing it as well continues to follow silently but also worried about what's going on. The two round the corner to the open soccer field and see a bunch of kids circling 3 other kids, two squaring up and one on the ground behind one of them. Seth takes a closer look as they get closer one of the kids seeming to be a male with brown hair and hazel eyes is wearing a blue hoodie, black jeans and blue converse. The other however seems to be a girl that has long Midnight black hair tied up in a ponytail with a purple ribbon that's tied in a bow, beautiful violet colored eyes and seems to be wearing a purple shirt, black and purple skirt, black leggings and dress shoes that seems to be defending a blonde haired boy with gorgeous grassy green eyes that seems to be wearing a black hoodie, light green shirt, blue jeans and black converse. The Seth hears the standing boy yell at the girl, "Look at the quiet girl!! Always resorting to action instead of using her pathetic words!! I bet she doesn't even have a girl voice!! What are you, secretly a boy?!", some others laugh while the others stay silent, Seth quickly walks over to the fight as the boy tries hitting the girl and grabs his arm. Once he grabs the boys arm everything goes quiet, he notices the girls black eye and injured arms and slightly bloody hands before looking at the boys bruised face, black eyes and the blood dripping from his mouth.
      Seth sighs and shakes his head not very pleased nor will his parents be about this, although he could just ask Lavender to cover up Steel's bruises with makeup. He stares down at them and lets go of the boys hand and sighs again, "Listen Steel I told you not to get in any fights, mom and dad aren't going to be happy", he says as he notices Steel tense a bit and pats her head, "Bring your new friend here to Lavender and she'll help you two and I'll bring this one to the office  okay?", he asks looking down at her, once he gets a nod from her, he watches her proceed to help the new boy to his feet and to Lavender who takes them back to the school grounds to treat their wounds. Seth waits until they are gone before taking the other kids back to the playground, questioning them on what happened and then bringing the one boythats not paying attention to the conversation to the office, once there he is greeted by the principal and immediately gets asked questions about the injured boy. Seth simply explains what he had learned from the little girl outside and from what he had witnessed. The principal nods and calls for the nurse then the boys parents while Seth waits there for his girlfriend, sister and the new boy. A few minutes later the 3 of them walk in the two kids bandaged up and Lavender sighs, "So what's going to happen now?", she asks looking up at Seth. Seth simply smiles down at her and opens his mouth to respond until he hears the office door slam open and to adults come running in. Seth and the others look up at the kids parents. The principal sighs and looks at them, "So it has come to my understanding that your son had started a fight with the new kid and Ms. Dragon here stepped in to stop it am I correct?", he asks. Seth nods at him.
     Seth sighs before explaining what the other kids had told him on the way here, "On my way to bring this boy here and the other kids that were around back to the playground I question them as to what had happened, they said your son had walked up to my sister, her friend and the new boy-", he says but gets interrupted by the new boy, "My name is Kent", he smiles up at Seth. Seth nods with a smiles before continuing, "So my sister, her friend and Kent here were just talking before you son came over and asked to borrow him for a moment so they went off with a small group of kids, they seemed to be gone for a while so Steel went to check on them because her and her friend were getting worried, they saw Steel walk off and the kids that were with these two boys said that your son swung at him first and started beating him up, then my sister stepped in when she go there to protect Kent", he finally finishes and they all nod, the boy gets grounded and suspended for a week, Steel gets suspended for 3 days and Kent gets off the hook. Seth gently takes her hand and leaves with her and Lavender. They 3 get outside as Steel's friend runs up to her and hugs her, "I was so worried!! Are you ok?!", she says completely worried. Steel nods and smiles at her concern before quietly responding, "I'm fine Delta, but I won't be here for 3 days maybe you can come over after school?", she asks sweetly. Delta immediately agrees while nodding her head, "Of course I will!! I promise not to leave my best friend hanging!!", she salutes with a goofy smile. Steel giggles before hearing a male voice calling out her name and the two girls turn their attention to Kent as he runs out of them out of breath.
Seth and Lavender watch the to girls before hearing the boy call out Steel's name and looks to see Kent run up to them so he walks a bit away so they can talk while Lavender follows. Kent catches his breath and smiles at Steel, "I never got to say thank you! So thank you for helping me! I probably would have been a goner!", he says making the two girls laugh. He smiles at their laughter but he more focuses on Steel's then he does with Delta, he doesn't know why but he finds her laughter hypnotizing and smiles and holds out his hand, "Let vow to always be friends!", he grins at them. Steel smiles and places her hand on top of his before Delta doing the same to hers before throwing their hands up and yelling, "Best friends forever!", they all laugh and Seth calls over Steel with a small laugh. Steel waves bye to the two and runs off to Seth and Lavender and leaves with them. Once their gone Delta gives Kent and knowing look with a smirk, he then proceeds to look after Steel before noticing her look and turns his attention to Delta, "What's with that look?". Delta doesn't give him an answer instead she throws her arms up and runs around screaming 'Kent has a crush! Kent has a crush!' Repeatedly before he starts chasing her and yelling 'I do not!' Repeatedly. Steel looks back hearing them and shakes her head before looking ahead and smiling brightly at the two. Kent however couldn't gent the beautiful girls feminine voice out of his head or her to be precise, he hoped they'd be best friends forever but secretly he hoped he'd be with her in the future.
