The Story of Family (Book 1)

Chapter 1 First Meetings

                                                        
Long ago in a small town lived a huntress who was also a princess, she would wander day and night taking jobs for money. She had recently finished a job that included killing another heiress to her surprise the person that sent her paid her 10 million to be rid of the female, she happy to oblige. She then made her way to a bar as a recent customer had requested for her assistance, as she made her way up the stairs she looked at the dark and deceiving looking building and walked to the door calmly knocking as she looked around she makes sure her hood stays covering her face, her blood stained clothes hidden under her cloak and her scythe in a holder on her back. A male answered and stated "What's the password?", the girl looked up to the little opening with her beautiful green yet blind eyes but said nothing. The male noticing the blindness in her eyes abruptly closed the slit and opened the door. "My apologies ms." Said the male and opened the door more and stepped aside. "He's in the back room" he stated.
     The girl just simply nodded and walked in looking around as the male shut the door behind her. She calmly walked towards the back room as some males tried getting her to join them. She simply glared at the drunken idiots and continued walking until reaching the door. She calmly reached out her hand and gently knocked before pulling her hand away and hearing a "come in" from the other side. The girl walked in calmly and shut the door quietly behind her before walking up to the desk. The male looked at her and smiled. "Well this certainly is a surprise I didn't think you'd show, I was about to hand over the job to someone else" he stated. She then realized they weren't the only two in the room and kept her guard up.
     The second male in the room then spoke up. "Are you sure we can trust her? I know she's know for killing many, but I think I can handle this on my own and maybe hit a few other bars on the way" he stated while crossing his arms causing her to glare at him. The male behind the desk raised his hand seeing her about to talk and silences them, "that's enough Ace, she is more than capable of doing this by herself but if you want to pity her then why don't you join her?" He states. He then notices the disgusted look on the females face and the smirk that spread across his companions face. "Is that an order, master?" Asked the now cocky male. "It is" he replied. He then turns his attention to the female. "If it's ok with you that is". The girl contemplated for a moment and sighs and nods.
     As the two set off after getting some information about their opponents they headed out and hunted them. The female finally getting some fresh air sighs in peace hoping the male hadn't heard her but he did. He glances down at her and did what she was hoping he wouldn't do, he spoke to her. "So Ms., care to give me your name?". She didn't respond, he tried again "hello? I'm talking to you! What's your name?", still no answer. By this time the male was getting annoyed with the female, he did something risky that would most likely get him killed, he got in her face. "Now you listen here! I don't like being paired up for this mission as much as the next guy but, I was ordered to so you can either talk or I'll have him find someone else to accompany ME on this mission! So I suggest you humor me with at least 3 words!". She just stares at him a bit dumbfounded and thinks of 3 words to say, when she goes through her head and finally picked the words she wanted to say, a smirk suddenly appeared across her face as she looked at him. "Your an idiot" she stated without hesitation before walking around him to continue their mission. The male suddenly smirks, "ha! I got you to speak!!", he then realizes what she said, "your a fucking bitch!!!!". He stood there watching her walk past noticing her appearance. He suddenly felt himself blush but shakes his head and hears her voice again. "Lets go 'Pretty Boy!'". She stated as she continued to walk unamused by the males stupidity. He reluctantly followed the blonde beauty.
     They walked in silence as they walked he decided to try and get more words out of her. "So....your a Huntress?", no response so he tried again. "Do you kill for a living?", still no response. He then walked with her and sighed giving up. "This is pointless... I'm going to kick his ass when I get back..." he stated mumbling under his breath. Having some perks to being blind she was able to hear him mumble under his breath and responds to his surprise. "Why did you come then?". He stares at her for a moment before responding, "He's my master I must follow orders". He simply replied. She thought for a moment as she walked before suddenly ducking and grabbing his arm pulling him down with her. He goes to yell at her until she slaps a hand over his mouth to silence him. She listens to their surroundings hearing multiple footsteps and making sure he's silent she removes her hand from his face and quietly moves through the bushes to get a better look. She sees the shadows of many males and females, she also notices some children. She gets confused as she sees the small children and climbs a tree for a better look and as she climbs the tree she notices her acquaintance watching them from the bushes below. 
      He notices something moving and looks up seeing her sign with her hands then realizes what she's doing and gives a firm nod as he is about to distract them but suddenly gets pulled out of the bushes and thrown into a tree, "Motherfucker!!!" He yells out as he holds his head as he hears a woman's voice. "I told you we were being watched...", she stated crossing her arms. He then heard the voice of a male, "Don't fucking start! You wenches are useless and you females aren't worth anything but trouble!!!". After the male finished rubbing his head he notices a shadow cast down as the two continue to bicker. His eyes suddenly widen seeing the blonde sliced through the male silencing him forever. She then faced the others and watched them back away. He suddenly gets another good look at her as he looks at her appearance she wears a black hooded cape, a black short skirt, black heals and a purple shirt.
      He looked at her appearance a bit surprised and wondered how she could move so fast wearing those heals knowing by the time she's done fighting her feet will hurt. He then noticed her choice in weapon seeing a scythe in her hand he watched her movement seeing her dodging attacks and then throwing her own. He watched her closely as he realized her movements were similar to dancing he made a note to question her later about it. He didn't notice the blonde walk up to him as he was stuck in a daze which he was brought out of by her hitting him, "OW!!!" He hadn't expected the punch or the force that came with it that almost knocked him over making him realize he was now standing, staring and complaining about a 'little' punch. She stares at him after her fist collided with his face and shakes her head. She then realized the person they were after was one of the people she killed. He looks to the person, "Hey! You got him!". She shakes her head and leaves.
      After their mission they went back to the bar and walked in after speaking to the guard. They walked to the back room and the male led them in as they heard a voice. "Ahhh welcome back you two! Is the deed done?" He asked. The other male nods as he shuts the door behind the female. He walks over to the desk as she stands there silently. The elder male looks at her from his seat at his desk. "Come dear and retrieve your reward". She calmly walks over as the male holds out his hand and watches as she reaches out her hand placing it in his the elder suddenly grabs her hand as he sees her tense. "You shouldn't be here...." he says before looking at the male. "Send for her parents!". She tries desperately to pull her hand out of his grip but suddenly stops as her eyes widen as she feels great power from him. "Who are you?!" She grits her teeth, she closes her eyes and then opens them as they flash purple and everything suddenly goes dark as several screams are heard before silence rolls over the bar and then the lights turn on as her eyes are now her normal green.
     She sensed the male she had left with still there and alive and sighs. "I better be going" she suddenly turns walking towards the door but suddenly hears fast moment and something grab her arms. "Let go!!" She screams at him. "Not until I know your name!!l" he screams. She just stared at him a bit surprised before narrowing her eyes. "And why should I tell you?!" She screamed back. He took a breath and keeps hold of her arm and stares her dead in the eye. She swore she saw something weird about him. "What are you?" She asked a bit of uneasiness in her voice. He stared at her and responded, "I, am a devil angel. Now, what is your name?" He narrows his eyes at her. She sighs knowing she's not getting out of this especially knowing she's facing a creature a bit more powerful then her. "It's...it's Kali...and yours?" She asked. He looks a bit surprised, he then clears his throat. "Ace...Ace Achtung...Well seems home you killed my boss I'll have to find another job...." he looks over to the dead male then at her. "Any ideas?" He questioned as she looked at him.
     She thought for a moment and sighs before responding. "I do...follow me.." she lets him lead her out before she leads him to the reapers HQ to get him a new job. He looked at the building when they arrived at the big building he spoke, "big place....so uh, what now?" Looks down at her only to realize she's gone and looks around before seeing her walking up to the building and runs to catch up to her, he follows her inside and looks around before noticing a woman at the front desk and then turns his attention back to the blonde as the woman speaks, "Oh! Kali y-your back...um what can I do for you?" She stammers a bit nervous. He turns his attention back to Kali as she speaks, "Nexus! I brought the reapers a new recruit! He's a bit wimpy but I'm sure they can fix him up!" She smiles at the woman. Nexus a bit surprised and looks at the male, "and uh your name?" She questions still a bit uncomfortable around the other female.
     He notices and chuckles lightly, "just call me Ace" he responded with a small smile easing the woman's tension. She gives a light smile, "well then...Ace if you take a seat I'll phone someone to take you away and get situated and started on your training" she nods towards a bench before going back to her work. He nods and sits down on the bench and looks at Kali who's now standing in front of him and points a finger at him, "Now you listen here! No bailing on the first week of training because it's to difficult for you to do!!" She states sternly. She sighs, "right, right I wouldn't want you to come after me after all...I learned that lesson already..." he scratches the back of his head. "You think we could spare sometime?", he looks up noticing a grin plastered across her face as she spoke. "Well of course dear! Just don't expect me to hold back!!" She smiles and notices a woman walk over to them. "Kali what are you doing here? Come to beat more of my men?" She asked, "in your dreams Phantom! Those men of yours are weak! The females even do better!!" She laughs as Phantom sighs and looks at her. Kali stops laughing and wipes a stray tear and sighs, "listen Phantom I'm only here because I brought you a new recruit" She then points to the male on the bench, "his name is Ace Achtung, I'm sure you can handle him as I have things to do!" She grins devilishly.                         
Phantom sighs and shakes her head before holding out her hand to the male, "just call me Phantom....now if you follow me we can get started...". Ace reaches out his hand and shook hers, "alright", they parted hands and he stood and followed her, looking back to the blonde he smiled, "See you around Kali" he said and gave a light wave and disappeared down the hall. Kali smiled lightly before walking out and heading home.
