Genji x Reader - The Pact

Chapter 11. Why?!

"I love you (Y/N)! More than anything else!"
Those were his last words, and now you stood in front of his dead body, with your eyes wide open.
How did it come to this?

After you were done cleaning the floorboards, you wanted to ask the other maids if you could do something to help them.
But when you saw the shocked looks on their face, you knew something had to be wrong.
They all were looking towards the big room with the dragon painting on the ceiling.

You rushed towards it, and what you found was horrific. Genji was lying on the floor, in a puddle of blood his blood.

"No, no...NO!"
You mumbled in disbelief.

You ran towards him, holding him in your arms. But it was already too late to say goodbye to him. Tears ran down your face.
Holding his cold body close to yours you didn't know what to do.

But you exactly knew whos fault it was. The elders of the clan didn't like that you and Genji were in love, and that Genji wanted to leave the criminal clan with you.
So they had to get rid of him, before the two of you could run away.

You were filled with anger and sadness, not wanting to believe that the one person you loved was really gone now.
What should you do now without him.
You were lost without him.

Starting to cry into his chest, you didnt wanted to let him go. But you knew that you couldn't stay there. Without Genji there was no reason for you to stay at Shimada castle. And so you gave him one last kiss on the forehead and gently placed him onto the ground.

"You promised that you would never leave me...I guess you lied.." y
ou said, touching his face looking down at him while kneeling beside his body.
"What am I ever gonna do without you my love?!"
You mumbled, tears rolling down your face like little waterfalls.

"(Y/N)....I know it's hard, but I think we should go now..."
Kumo said silently, rubbing his head against your back to comfort you.
"I will love you forever Genji, and I will never forget what you have done for me, but it's time to leave now..."
you said letting go of him.

"Let's run away, and when I find out who killed my parents and Genji, I'm going to make them suffer and I'm GOING TO KILL THEM."
your voice was filled with hate.

You ran to your room, gathering the few important things you had.
Genjis old sword that he had given to you, he used to train with it when he was younger,  but he had outgrown it so he gave it to you one day.
It had his name engraved into it and was his favourite color, green.
You also took a Photo of him and you. The last thing you made sure to take with you was the band that was still tied in your hair.
That were the only things you took with you, before leaving this place for forever.

You ran as fast as you could, to escape the nightmare that was Shimada castle.

"Where should we go Kumo?" You asked, while still running.

"Let's just run as fast as we can, and see were faith will take us."
He said, sprinting beside you, in the form of a cat. 

You ran through Hanamura, with only a few breaks. You just wanted to get out of there as fast as you could.

When it was time for the sun to go down, Kumo and you decided it was time to eat. And so you picked out the cheapest Restaurant there was and paid with the money that you had, which wasn't very much.

As you ate you tried not to talk to Kumo, you knew that it would make you cry.
The images of what happened popped up in your head again. You started wondering if it would have ended differently if you would have told Genji that you had a bad feeling.

You started thinking that it was your fault.
Thinking it was your fault that he had died, because you didn't stop loving him after you knew what could be the consequences.
Your fault that it ended like this.
If you would have just followed your plan and if you would have just married Hanzo, Genji wouldn't have had to die.

"I killed him..." you mumbled.

Your appetite was gone and the only thing you could think of was that you had killed Genji. 
Your mind was clouded with the guilt you felt.

It was so clouded that you didn't notice that someone had followed you. And it was someone that was up to no good ...
