Chapter 17. Overwatch

You sat in the airship with Jesse, holding Kumo tight while he sat on your lap. Looking out the window, you were amazed but also saddened by what you saw.
You left behind the battlefield that was covered in snow and blood, and flew over big cities, like London.

"Where are we going?"

"To our base in Gibraltar." Jesse simply said.

The athmospere made you uncomfortable. No one spoke, and there was only you, Jesse and someone who flew the airship in it.

"Where are the others?" You asked, making him look up at you.

"Others? Oh ya mean my comrads? They are flying back in another airship." He simply said.

You decided against questioning it, and were just happy to get away from the onmium.

You looked at Jesse once again. He truly looked like a cowboy, but there was somethibg that confused you.

"Uuhhhm..." you stared a bit embarrassed to ask.

"Feel free toask whatever you want." He said, as he continued to look at his holopad.

"I was wondering, why doesnt your uniform have the overwatch logo on it ..." You said hesitant.

Jesse looked iup at you. "Thats because I dont belong to overwatch directly. Im a member of blackwatch." He simply said and the proceeded to look at his holopad.

"What is Blackwatch?"

"We are a little group of overwatch agents that go on secret missions. One of our missions was to find the secret weapon of the onium. First we thought it would be a giant omnic or a nuclear weapon, but we were wrong. Thats how we found out about you."

You didnt know what to say anymore. There were people out there that knew about you all along, and their plan was to safe you.
You felt bad for losing hope and thinking that there was no one that could safe you.
But most importantly, you felt weak. You felt weak because you didnt had the strengh nor the motivation to escape on your own.
You were dissapointed because you gave up on yourself and just accepted your terrible fate.

It was in this moment that you remebered Something very important.

"Uhhhm I need to use the restroom..." you said a bit quiet.

"Oh its right around tha corner, feel free to use it!" Jesse said pointing to a littke door.

After enterring the little bathroom and closing the door, You started to quickly take off your bulletproof west, your jacket and your top.
Seeing the logo of the onium on your clothes made you want to throw up.

You took out two of your little knives. You put one of them between your teeth and bit down on it as hard as you could. Taking one last heavy breath you looked at your back in the mirror. There was a little scar right beside the enhancements.
That was were tge tracking chip was. You knew that you had to take it out before arriving at the base.

So you got going. Cutting down deep into dour skin, making the bloof flow out of the wound. The pain made you bite down even harder onto the knive handle in your mouth, but you didnt dare to scream. You were to used to not screaming, that you were scared to do it.

You huffed from the pain as tears formed in your eyes. But you kept going. Digging down deeper into your skin, the knive hit something hard, it had to be the chip.

You looked into the mirror, but it was hard to see what was going on, your lower back was full of blood, but you could see something silver deep down in the wound.

Digging into the wound with the knive you tried to get the damn chip out of your back.

You were more than just relieved when you heard something metallic hit the ground.
Smiling down at it, you felt free.

The chip was as small as a grape, out of metall and was atill blinking.
"You wont find me ever again sick bastards!" You said out loud, as you smashed the chip with the back of your knive.
The had chip stopped blinking, you picked it up and flushed it down the toilet, watching your blood and the water merge toghether and then dissappear.

Now you could finally feel again.

You started cleaning yourself up, when you got interrupted by Kumo.

"(Y/N)....WTF!!" He said shocked looking at what you had done.

"What?! I had to get it out!"

"Are ya ok in there (Y/N)?" Jesse asked from outside the bathroom.

"Yup Im almost done!" You shouted, putting on your clothes.

"Ok, we will be at the base soon, so ya better hurry up!"

"Ok!"

Looking out of the window, after you were done leaving the bathroom,you saw Gibraltar, and the giant overwatch base.

You felt a feeling you hadnt felt in a really long time.
You felt as if you would be home.
