Chapter 11: Barn mates

You warped somewhere in the field. You followed Peridot. "Lapis I'm back!" Peridot yelled. Lapis was sitting in a truck and watching some kind of box. She stood up and flew down. "Hey guys what's going o-" She stopped talking when she noticed you.  She glared at you "what is she doing here". Steven stepped in front of you "Woah, Lapis it's ok she's with us now". She rolled her eyes "Yeah right, and I wasn't fused with her for several months". You looked down ashamed. "Lapis come on she changed, Steven healed her when she almost got corrupted!" Peridot said. Lapis sighted "Peridot, can we talk about it first?" She asked Peridot. "Okay" Peridot said. Lapis summoned a bubble made out of water and wrapped it around you. You floated around. They were talking but you couldn't hear them. Suddenly Lapis let you down. You got up and squeezed water out of your hair. "Fine. I'll give you another chance" She said. "Yay!" Peridot yelled.

You sat in front of a board. "So you're an earthling, but what does that mean? Well the answer is" They turned the board around "who knows?! And that's the beauty of earth. Nothing here makes sense but that's why you have us now" Peridot said. "It might be hard to like earth at first. It is where a bunch of bad stuff happened" Lapis said. "I know I fought in the gem war" You said. "You fought in the gem war?" Steven asked. "Yeah. I told you I served Pink diamond didn't i?" You asked him. "Yeah you did but I didn't think that you fought in the war" He said. "Would you mind telling us about it?" Peridot asked. "I don't really like to remind myself that I failed" You said ashamed. "Failed?" Steven asked. "The day Pink diamond was shattered, I was supposed to protect her from any danger, but she gave me a mission to recruit soldiers for her army. When I came back I saw Rose quartz shattering her" You said. You stared crying. "(G/t)? Are you okay?" Steven put an arm on your solder. "I've failed in protecting my diamond and now she's shattered! Because of me!" You sobbed. "(G/t) it's okay" Steven said. You looked up at him. "How is it okay? I'm a failure. I should have been shattered back than!" You sobbed again. You felt Steven wrap his arms around you. "What are you doing?" You asked. "Hugging you" He said. "Hugging?" He let go of you. "You've never been hugged before?" He asked. You shook your head no. You wiped your tears away. "Are you feeling okay? " Peridot asked you. You nodded "Yeah I just lost it, I'm sorry. I haven't cried in a long time, well besides if you count being in the presence of Blue diamond".

The rest of the afternoon Steven, Lapis and Peridot were explaining the functions of Earth. Peridot even showed you their 'Meep morphs' you thought they looked neat.
"Hey let's make some Meep morphs, to mark the day you joined the Cg (Crystal gems)" She suggested.
"Oh okay" You said. You spend the next two hours making your morph. Steven and Amethyst had to go home so you couldn't show them your morph. Peridot made a metal Jojo? Is that's what it's called? And Lapis made a hanging decoration with green, blue and (g/c) (gem color) ribbons. You found some big pieces of wood. You joined them together and made a tiny house. You found some paint cans with (g/c) paint I'm them. You pored the colour on top of the little house. You went out side and picked some flowers. You placed the flowers on te roof of the little house. You showed you creation to Lapis and Peridot. Peridot loved it but Lapis was still sceptical of you living with them. Peridot made you watch 'Camp pining hearts'. You actually started to like that show. Peridot stopped the tv and turned to you. "So, what do you think of the first season?" She asked. Lapis turned to you as well. "I think it's cool! I really like the characters, but it's sad that Percy and Pier aren't together yet" You said. "Exactly! They're perfect for each other!" Lapis smirked at Peridots remark. "Oh yeah we forgot one more thing!" Peridot said. "And what's that?" You asked. "You should try sleeping! It's very relaxing! Lapis snores sometimes so it might be hard for you to fall asleep" She said and Lapis blushed. "Sleep? How do you do that?" You asked. You followed Peridot as she jumped off of the truck. She went inside the barn. "It's very easy!" She lied some kind of blanket on the ground. "You just lie down" She lied down and motioned to you to do the same. "Close your eyes" You closed your eyes. "Don't move, and don't think about anything" Those were the last words you heard before drifting off to slumber.

Dream:
You woke up. You were floating in the middle of nowhere. "(G/t)" You heard someone say. Suddenly you saw Jasper. "You're a failure"She said. "J-Jasper?"You were confused. "You're a traitor" She said. "Jasper what're you saying?" You tried to approach Jasper but she yelled "Don't come near me you traitor!" She summoned her helmet and charged at you. "Jasper! NO! Please!" She poofed you. That's when you woke up.
End of dream

You woke up with a start. Breathing heavily. Peridot and Lapis turned towards you. "Hey you okay? You've been mumbling in your sleep" Peridot asked. "Y-yeah I just had a really weird dream" You said. "Was it scary?" She asked. "I guess" You stated. "Well that's called a nightmare" She said. "A nightmare?" You questioned. "It's when you have a dream that's scary" She explained. "Oh". You went outside

"Oh right.
(G/t) I told Lapis that you can control plants, and she will teach you how to control it! Isn't that existing?" Peridot asked. "I guess, well when can we start training?" You asked.
"Right now" Lapis said. "Oh, okay". She summoned a water hand. "If you want to control your power, you gotta relax, try and concentrate on a flower" She said as she let the water fall back down. You sat down in front of a yellow flower. You closed your eyes and stretch out your hands towards it. You breathed out and tryed to relax. "Try and concentrate to make it bigger, imagine it grow". You breathed out again and imagined the flower to grow you opened one of your eyes to see the flower bearly charged at all. " It's okay, you just gotta keep trying" Lapis said. You tried again and again but none of your attempts worked.

You groaned and fell on the grass. "Hey you don't have to keep trying if you don't want to" Lapis told you. "No I want to learn it today" You said. "Well it might take a while, look at Peridot she just now learned that she has metal powers and she's keep struggling to actually control it" She looked at Peridot who was trying to knock over an old can. You sat up and closed your eyes again. You concentrated on the flower. You opened one of your eyes to see the flower the same size as Peridot. Lapises mouth was in a 'O' shape. "Woah" You said. You stretched your hand towars it. You moved your hand down and the flower shrank down. You laughed a little. You lifted both of your hands up and the grass around you grew a little longer. You walked towards a nearby tree with out leaves and placed your hand on it. You closed your eyes. When you opened them the whole tree was covered in bright green leaves.
You were proud of your self.
"Lapis thank you for helping me!"
Lapis smiled faintly "meh it was nothing" She said. Peridot came running towards us. "Hey! Let's go watch another season of Camp pining hearts!" She suggested. "Yeah sure" Said Lapis. "There's more than one season?!" You asked exited. "Yeah! The second one is my favorite! The third one is okay. The forth one meh it could be better, but the fifth one is just Trash. It doesn't even make sense in the story!" She said. "Peridot be careful you don't want to ruin the show for (g/t)" Lapis said. "Oh yeah sorry. Now come on let's watch it already!"

For the rest of the day you just watched Camp pining hearts. When the last episode ended you tried to make the grass grow so you don't have to jump down. You successfully made the grass grow into some stairs, but they weren't very sturdy. You lied down on the blanket that Peridot set up for you and fell asleep into a dreamless slumber.
