-----5 years ago----

At 15 years old you were traveling by yourself to an unknown place. You used to live with a wealthy family in Nova Scotia until the Cuthberts wanted you. Marilla and Matthew were the closest things you had to family. They were your mother's cousins and they agreed to take you in. You boarded the train and headed to Avonlea, wondering what your life might be like there. You were lost in thought during the ride home. As you approached the train station you gathered your suitcase and handbag. The train came to a screeching halt and you couldn't wait to get off. The thought of a new place excited you and you were eager to adventure.

You walked towards the exit, breathing in the fresh air of Avonlea. As you walked down the steps, you quickly began to look at your surroundings. You noticed a boy, about your age in a carriage. He was staring at you, taking notice of this you sent a small smile his way. He snapped out of his trance and began to walk towards you. As his gorgeous eyes scanned your face, you felt something that you could only describe as love at first sight.

"Excuse me, are you y/n?" He asked with a strong french accent eminent in his voice.

"Yes, do I know you?" You questioned, puzzled at how this handsome boy knew your name.

"Oh! My name is Jerry, I work for the Cuthberts, Matthew sent me." He replied, adjusting his hat and coat.

"Lovely, thank you." You said, smiling widely.

"Here, let me help you with your bags." He offered, taking your suitcase.

"Thank you, Jerry." You said, watching him put the suitcase in the back of the carriage.

"Anything for you." He said, confidently with a wink.

You giggled at his flirting.

You walked towards the carriage and as you were about to climb onto the step you heard Jerry run over.

"Please, allow me." He said, putting his hand out for you take. He gently guided you into the carriage.

"Thank you again, Jerry." You replied.

He nodded and jogged to the driver's side of the carriage. The two of you rode to Green Gables constantly finding something to talk about. It felt like you would be friends with him forever, and that was what you both wanted.

---NOW---

You had taken your queens exams 4 years ago at age 16. Now you were 20 and you decided to go back to Avonlea for a while. Taking the train back to Avonlea brought back good memories that you had with friends, like the time you, Ruby, Diana, Gilbert, and Moody jumped into a freight car. Taking the train brought back memories fo the first time you traveled to Avonlea. You were greeted by Jerry. You thought you could push those feelings away, but you knew that the minute you saw him they would all come flooding back. Thankfully, he still worked occasionally at Green Gables according to Marilla's letter.

Thinking about this passed the time on the train quickly. You were anxious to get off and to see your family. The train came to a halt, you grabbed your suitcase and handbag and walked to the exit. It was so familiar, the train station. You gently placed your hand on the handrail and began to walk down the stairs, with the train of your dress flowing behind you. You breathed in the sweet Avonlea air and looked around.

As you were looking, your eyes stopped on a familiar face. Jerry. He was staring at you as if it were love at first sight.

"Excuse me, are you y/n?" He asked with a wink. He knew who you were.

"Yes, do I know you?" You replied, trying to hold in laughter.

"Oh! I'm--" He started, but you cut him off.

"Jerry!" You couldn't wait to finish the previously had conversation, you jumped into his arms.

He was much stronger now, facial features more defined, he was just more handsome. He helped you with your bags and helped you into the carriage. On the way home, there was a silence he decided to break.

"I waited for you." He confessed.

"I missed you Jerry." You admitted.

"I wish you had never left. I was alone." He said.

You took hold of his hand, knowing that you wanted to be with him.

"I'm here now, aren't I?" You asked.

He stopped the carriage.

"Thank goodness, because now I can do this." He said, pulling you closer for a kiss.

When you pulled apart he grabbed your hand again and interlocked fingers, starting the carriage back up again. The two of you found yourselves talking just like you had on the first day you met.
