"Alright, Rena. It's my first day at my new job. What do you think?" I asked as I walked out of my room and into the kitchen. The kitchen was right beside my room so I could grab something from the fridge in the matter of seconds.

Anyway, I twirled in my blue casual mini dress with a sweetheart neckline. I wanted to look cute and professional. My hair was curled a little with my makeup on as usual.

I'm guessing Rena wasn't feeling it because she was leaning over the kitchen sink. Her hair was all over her head and she looked terrible. She had bags under her eyes and a stuffy nose. She was throwing up over the sink.

Oh wait. She had on her M&M pajamas. This meant that she was super sick. When she's sick, she wears something she really loves. Like M&Ms. She couldn't go to work. She looked like the cartoon character Droopy. When she lifted her head, she said "You look fine." She looked into the fridge.

"Rena, I understand you're sick, but I need your honest opinion. I have to be at the company office in like 30 minutes," I said as I stood against the wall.

I was starting as an office receptionist alongside this girl named Nicole. She was around my age and seemed really nice. She was actually the assistant to the owner of the company. I guess she put in a good word for me. She was the one who did my interview.

"Carmon, you look amazing. Just change your shoes. It looks like you're going to ballet practice," Rena said as she poured orange juice into a cup. She has a weird fascination with orange juice when she's sick.

"Thank you, Rena! Speaking of ballet, can you take Raina to her ballet class?" I asked with a smile on my face. I know. I shouldn't have asked her because she was sick, but she was the only one around.

I decided to give Raina something to do during the summer besides being nosey in what Jana and Jessica were doing. When I was younger, my mom signed me up for ballet. I did that for about ten years. I was four when I started and our mom died when I was 15. After our mom and dad died, I just stopped going.

What was the point if my cheerleaders were gone?

No one else would take me to practices or recitals. Then my aunt kept getting mad for no reason and I stayed away from the house a lot. Maybe Raina will grow up differently. She's only six years old. She has a lot of time.

"Carmon, I'm not doing that. I'm sick as hell and I don't want to get Raina sick too. I can get Jana or Tiff to do it. They should be here in a few minutes," Rena said as she took another sip of orange juice.

"How did you get sick in the first place?" I asked as I watched her lean against the kitchen sink.

"This is what happens when you work with kids almost every day. One of the kids were sick and I got sick eventually. I hate calling out of work," Rena said. I felt so bad for her. She loves those kids like they're her own and she had to miss work.
