The Call.

Another year has gone by, they’re finishing the tour, and she wakes up with the ring of the hotel phone.

She turns around in bed slowly, trying not to wake Kurt up. “Bonjour”* She says as she hears his raspy voice from the other side.

“Oui, Oui, Je promets que je serai à l'heure”** she whispers. “Non, ne t'inquiète pas”*** another little pause. “Merci de me réveiller, à bientôt”**** she hangs up the phone, and rests there with a little smile on her face. 

Kurt couldn’t get a word she was saying, but he knew exactly who it was.

“Isn’t it weird he’s the first person you speak to in the morning?” he asks, coming closer to her, kissing her neck.

“Little tradition, he knows I never wake up on time, so he calls until I’m on my feet” she whispers.

"You two have some weird traditions" he says, trying to not to think too much about it. "I guess, we have been doing them for so long that now it's natural" she explains, but he doesn't care, he has a bed feeling about René since the moment they met.

“Well, now I can wake you up every morning.” he says, getting under the sheets, kissing her.

*Good morning.
** Yes, Yes, I promise I'll be on time.
*** No, don't worry.
**** Thank you for waking me up, see you soon.

A Surprise For You.

She wakes that morning and the bed seems too big without her husband, he's been away only for a couples of nights and she already misses sleeping by his side, even more today. Today, of all the days of the year she has to be without him.

It's her birthday and Kurt had an emergency trip to see his mom who had fallen and now she was hospitalized "I promise I'll be back on time and we'll celebrate your birthday like you deserve" he told her before kissing her and jumping into the car.

That was two days ago and he hasn't come back yet. Without wanting to, she gets out the bed and takes a quick shower before going downstairs to have breakfast.

"Good morning ma'am" Joyce, her housekeeper says to her "Good morning" she answers and glances at the table, full of her favorite things and smiles to the old lady "You didn't had to" she says "Happy birthday" she tells her and leaves her alone so she can enjoy her food "Happy birthday Céline" she tells herself ironically.

Once she has finished she decides she wasn't spending her day inside her house, she would go shopping and spoil herself, she deserved it.

After spending the whole day out she comes back home to find a beautiful and enormous bouquet of red roses with one single white one in the middle and a little box besides it, she opens it and founds a gorgeous diamond bracelet, so elegant and sophisticated.

She reads the little note attached to the flowers that simply says "Happy birthday beautiful" it was typewritten and without a signature so she immediately thinks that they're from Kurt, no one else would bother in send her such a marvelous gift. She runs to the telephone on the studio to call him.

"Hello gorgeous" he tells him as soon as he picks up the phone "Thank you, thank you, thank youuuu" she says almost screaming "Woah, slow down baby" he tells her "Why are you thanking me for?" He asks "The flowers" she says "They're beautiful and the bracelet too" she adds "But babe, I didn't sent you anything" he says and then it hits her, if wasn't him then, no it couldn't be, he wouldn't, she tries to convince herself, but she looks at the bracelet again, it has René's name all over it.
