Hello again thank you so much for reading my story! I'm going to be switching points of views throughout and like I said last time it's roughly edited so there are probably still mistakes. This story has graphic scenes so you've been warned. :)*Collins POV*
"Still no rouge sightings Alex and you're starting to piss me off man this is the fourth time you've asked me in less than an hour." My voice dripped with irritation through the mind link.
"Shut the hell up Collin. Jasper is very agitated, just do your job and keep me updated." He ordered, using his authoritative alpha voice.
He had been in more of a mood than normal. All-day pacing back and forth in his office before storming out of the house and shifting, barely passing the threshold before running off into the woods. I looked over to see Dylan laughing to himself, looking down as he walked. His short curls swaying gently in the frigid evening breeze. We walked in silence listening intently for any signs of a treat. When suddenly the coppery smell of blood made our steps to falter.
"Do you smell that?" I asked him through the mind link. He gave a swift nod, his nostrils flared as they filled with the scent of an unmated she-wolf.
The sound of a high pitched whimper over the steady rush of the river had us walking forwards its edge. Although we didn't smell another scents we were sure to be on guard in case it was an ambush. Through the tree branches, a girl with a mass dark curly hair that stood stiff from the winter air was sprawled across the pebbly bank.
The pale moons glow illuminated her ashen blue complexion. She was shivering violently with a dazed, far away look in her eyes. I walked slowly towards her. Upon closer inspection she was dressed in only a set of black lace transparent lingerie that was now saturated and dripping in blood. The steady stream of crimson seemed it was coming from just below her collar bone. I signed inwardly, she had been shot.
"What the hell happened to her?" Dylan voiced aloud. Quickening his steps towards the injured girl. Her face was streaming with tears. At the sound of his crunching footsteps, she brought her arms around of stomach and curled into a loose ball on the forest floor, whimpering in fear.
"We won't hurt you, we are here to help you. Can you tell us what happened?" I asked in a low tone hoping to soothe the injured wolf. As I step closer her whimpers turned into a low sob, she curled further into herself.
"Dude you're scaring her," Dylan said seemingly annoyed as his eyes inspected her thoroughly.
Letting out a loud breath through my nose I sent a message through the mind link, "Alex, there is a frightened and very injured she-wolf by the north shore of the river, I think she's been shot. She won't let us come near her."
"I'm on my way, don't scare her off," Alex replied immediately.
Taking a step back, I brought my arm out and grabbed hold of the back of Dylan's shirt as he tried to reach out to her again.
"Wait! Stop, you're making it worse," I said exasperated. Looking down to see breaths were now coming in shallow pants.
"Well, at least I didn't make her cry like you did!" He said accusingly turning to face me.
Before I had the chance to reply to Dylan's idiotic comment Alex came bounding towards us, his black fur shining in the moonlight.
*Alex POV*
I sat behind my mahogany desk starring straight ahead, fixated on the incessant ticking coming from the clock mounted to the navy blue walls of my office. My hands curled and uncurled themselves attempting to relieve some of the pent up energy. My wolf, Jasper has been emitting a low irritated growl since the early morning.
Pacing back and forth in my mind and blowing puffs of air out of my nose. I stood abruptly pushing my chair back violently and ran my calloused hands through my raven hair for the umpteenth time. Which I'm sure resembled that of an insane asylum patient, parted in every direction imaginable. I made my way over to the couch and laid down on my stomach, burying my face into the cushions. The cold leather almost sizzled under my hot skin radiating through my cotton shirt.
"Something is very wrong." Jasper barred his teeth, warming in a menacing growl he forced through his canines.
I shook my head refusing to answer, I've already sent both my second and third to border control. I was about to ask Collin if everything was clear for the fifth time when his worried voice rang through my head.
"Alex there is a scared and very injured she-wolf by the north shore of the river. I think she's been shot, she won't let us come near her."
I jumped to my feet already running out the door into the brisk winter air. I shifted mid-stride while replying "I'm on my way, don't scare her off." Jasper's pacing had ceased as he instead began to claw at the boundary of my mind whining for control. My paws hit the frostbitten ground with vigor as I weaved through the towering pine trees.
My ears perked up at the sound of a female's soft whimpers. A mouth-watering scent of coconut and lilies assaulted my senses, it's heavily allure was tainted by the overwhelming tinge of metallic blood. A low growl made its way out of my throat was I stalked my way towards Dylan and Collin who appeared as though they were having an argument. My emerald eyes searched the crumbling riverbank and came to a halt at the sight of the most striking tear-filled blue eyes I had ever had the pleasure to behold.
" Mate!" Jasper and I declared in a united growl. That soon turned into a whimper at the sight of her exhausted eyes closing shut with a look of finality. I was in front of her in an instant looking her over for injuries. Her pale skin was plastered in blood and had turned an eery blue colour. As my eyes traveled over her figure they got momentarily distracted by the generous curve of my mate's breasts that were on full display thanks to the lingerie she was clothed in.
I jerked my head back to the two males present and barred my teeth snarling. I felt my eyes turn black as Jasper made his dominant presence known. I carefully stepped over her and gently lowered myself down closer to cover her beautiful body from their eyes and the frigid night air. They quickly twisted their heads to the side putting their neck on display as a sign of submission and respect. I turned my attention back to my mate whimpering at the wound near her collar bone.
Jasper began gently licking the blood away with our tongue, after each stroke, a steady stream of blood would take its place. I could faintly make out both Colling and Dylan calling my name repeatedly. I nudged her tear-stained cheek gently with my cold nose hoping to invoke a response but none came.
"Alex, you need to get up you're hurting her by wasting time. She needs to go to the pack doctor if you don't want her to die." Alex said in a low but firm voice as he crouched down a few feet away from me his eyes boring into mine.
His word caused a loud howl to rubble from my puffed chest, Jasper whimpered at the idea of losing our mate. I carefully stepped away from her and shifted, briefly distracted by the familiar feeling of my fur retracting and bones rearranging themselves.
I turned back to her not caring to look for a spare set of clothes that I knew were hidden around the forest. I glanced up to find Dylan handing me a pair of shorts and an oversized shirt. I hastily threw on the shorts and gently laid the shirt over my mate like a blanket. I cradled her in my arms and started sprinting towards the pack hospital trying my best not to jostle her.
