*Jocelyn's POV*
I sat unmoving in the water. The thought that this was all a wild hallucination from one of their concoctions stuck out in my mind. I witnessed a wolf morph into a man's naked body, the same man who fed me twice and soothed my panicked self, It had to be my imagination. The sound of teeth chattering caught my attention.
I quickly went about washing myself using his soaps and shampoos in the hopes it would be acceptable. I scrunched up face together in the effort not to whimper at the feeling of my raw feet hitting the floor. I turned and watched the murky grey water drain from the tub before going to dry myself. I didn't know towels could be so soft. I avoided looking in the mirror, reluctant to see the person I had become.
I carefully pulled his pants on, pointing my toes, while I tried to avoid the fabric from touching my injured feet. The shirt was easier, my shoulder was covered in clear wrapping. Without thinking I brought the collar of his shirt up to my nose and breathed in deeply, my knees wobbling at the heavy scent of the forrest and unknown spices. A knock on the door startled me, making me jump and wince at my feet smacking on the floor.
I hobbled to the door, reaching out for the handle and watching in horror as the door became more and more distorted. It grew larger and darker, creaking and groaning echoed across the walls of the bathroom until the wooden bathroom door was gone. And the cold grey metal of my cell door stood taunting me once again.
"No! No, Please." I shouted stumbling backwards tripping over the bathroom rug and landing on my backside.
As quickly as it left, the wooden bathroom was back and swung open with enough force to rip it off from where it hung. I sat there in disbelief as Alexander's black eyes scanned the room. Not seeing any threat he marched over to me and bent down in front of my startled form. His blackened eyes bored into mine and made the blood in my veins run hot.
Without warning, he brought me into his chest, holding me tightly. One hand was cradling my head while the other was situated on my lower back. His head was tilted to the side and nuzzling the crook of my neck. The tip of his nose leaving a feather-light trail from the base of my shoulder to the bottom of my ear. I sat there thinking back to what the boy, Dylan had said...when his eyes turn black his inner wolf is upset.
"I'm sorry Alexander," I whispered hoping to make it better somehow. A deep steady rumble emanated from his chest. I froze not knowing what that sound meant. It was different from the growls I had heard before.
"He's purring." She hummed in satisfaction.
I stayed still in his arms trying to deny how good it felt. After what felt like hours I gave in and melted into his firm arms closing my eyes. Sometime later the melodic rhythm of his purring slowly faded and a loud silence followed. I forced my heavy eyes to open fluttering for a few beats before looking up into his now normal eyes. In an instant, he stood up still cradling me and started walking towards the bed.
Panicking I started to squirm and try to maneuver out of his impossibly firm hold but it only tightened. He walked over to a large bed and lowered me with a gentleness I didn't know existed. He stepped back and looked me over before making his way towards the door. I moved to follow him, not liking the idea of being trapped inside another room. The sheets rustled as I hurriedly flung myself from the bed and latched my hand around the side of the door.
"Where are you going?" I said asked, my voice hard.
"To let you sleep." His voice was husky and soothing as ever."Where will you sleep?" I questioned, my grip on the door becoming painfully tight. But I didn't loosen it, I will not be trapped again.
"On the couch I suppose."
I looked around the room for a couch large enough for him to sleep on but only found a smaller one. His eyes wandered up my body starting at my toes up, up until he followed my arm and saw white knuckles clutching the door frame. His eyebrows furrowed drawing together before he reached out to the door handle. His eyes were glued to my hand as he watched it become tighter and tighter until the frame creaked. He changed direction from the handle to my hand and place it over mine.
"I won't close the door if that's what you'd like." He said looking away from my hand and into my narrowed eyes. I starred at the door and pictured him walking away and closing it, only to have another man walking in moments later. If he stayed he wouldn't lock himself in, right? The voice in my head growled at me for thinking Alexander would lock me in.
