Sorry this chapter took so long, I'm slow and lazy :) Thank you so much for the votes and reads and I'm loving all the comments! Cheers.

Alexander snuck glances of me the entire drive over. Swerving the car a little with each turn of his head until we nearly missed hitting a tree head-on. He mumbled out an apology, gripping the wheel with pale knuckles as he swerved the car back onto the dirt road. He was dressed in a dark fitted suit and tailored charcoal vest that accentuated his already defined chest. He threw it on quickly after Collin literally stole Allison away.

Once parked and with impressive speed, he dismounted from his seat, reared the vehicle and opened my door for me. He guided me down gently, but rather than stepping away his hands flattened against the sides of my hips. They slid at a painfully slow pace up the thin fabric separating us.

I leaned against the chilled car door and watched his Adam's apple bob. His wandering eyes flickered up to mine several times during the encounter, silently asking if I was uncomfortable. If my hooded eyes and curved back weren't confirmation enough of my well being, Lux's hearty purr surely was. He growled deep in his throat before dipping his head low and rested his forehead lightly against my own.

"Words fail me, little russkaya."

"Than don't speak," I said exhaling, letting my abilities run freely that I normally attempted to store away when I was in his presence.

I bit my lip to keep from sighing as it burst forth inside me. Then it struck me. Everything he felt and couldn't say. Guilt. Lust. Pride. And something else, fulfilling and warm that I couldn't quite place, but welcomed all the same. It was foreign and overwhelming, but oddly satisfying.

Tears clouded my vision, I tried to blink them away but Alex ended up wiping the stray few that leaked from the corners of my eyes. "I feel you," I sniffed beaming down at him.

He smirked rubbing the pad of his thumb across my bottom lip, flipping it down gently.

"Me too," he said with a chuckle, letting it bounce back into place.

His mirth quickly fled as quickly as it came and was replaced by the furthest extent of his array of stoic expressions. I gulped, a chill ran up my spine as I waiting for him to speak.

"Before we go in there I need you to understand the severity of this. You're going to be bound to the pack permanently and be accepting to lead the pack alongside me. And the only way to break the bond once the ceremony is complete is very dangerous and painful. I just want. . . I need you to understand what this means."

I didn't need to use my gifts to feel his desperation, it was practically pouring out of him, his words were drenched in it.

Although it sounded cruel, I enjoyed the sound of anguish in his voice. It made his words feel more genuine. They reminded me of how he'd always given me a choice and put my feelings above his own from the beginning, even if that meant not ruling by his side.

However much the prospect of leading a pack frightened me, the idea of being without Alexander scared me far more. Lux whined aloud at the thought.

"I still want to if you'll have me," I said with an awkward chuckle.

He flashed me a blinding smile before his lips descending on mine. They were soft and generous, moving in perfect rhythm with mine. He increased his pressure for a pleasurable second before extricating himself, smirking when I growled in protest.

The entirety of the massive building was filled to the brim with people. They milled about the reflective tiles dressed in varying degrees of formal wear. At the base of the Throne stage, a table with different objects had been placed. I nearly stumbled into Alexander as we climbed the small set of steps at the sight of it.
