Alexander looked back at me with a creased forehead and furrowed eyebrows. He looked like he was about to say something but before he could the sound of a small knock on the door filled the room. It opened to an older woman wearing a white lab coat who came charging in with a disappointed look covering her face.

"Luna respectfully, you aren't allowed to be up and waking just yet." She spoke with a soft but exasperated voice.

My breaths start to quicken, my chest heaving at the effort. I quickly maneuvered around the bed creating as much distance as I could from my new torturer. I tried to fight it but I felt the gut-wrenching feeling of a memory coming on. I tried with all my might to remain in the present but it was no use. I closed my eyes as a last-ditch effort to escape the inevitable but when I opened them again I was back there.

My head was still in a throbbing haze as I hung limply over his shoulder. I was dropped onto the cold, steel medical table with enough force to rid all the air from my lungs. I wheezed and coughed my vision becoming even more blurry than before.  The many figures around me were going in and out of focus as I blinked dizzily trying to clear my vision.

I felt a calloused hand grip my chin roughly before pinching my cheek with enough force to bruise. Hot breath fanned around my left ear as he whispered in a gruff voice calling me his flower. I whined trying to turn my head away. A pair of cold hands started running down each arm followed by my legs.

They were grabbed roughly before my feet were shoved into metal stirrups. I thrust myself upwards in an effort to flea only to realize my extremities were bound in leather cuffs. My struggle was futile but I didn't care I continued to weakly tug on the restrains until my skin was torn and bleeding. I looked upwards and down frantically to see a woman in a startling white lab coat with a matching face mask who was starting to cut away at my shorts.

I stopped moving, frozen with fear. I could feel the hot wetness of tears running down my face. "NO no no no no please stop! Please, I just want to go home! I cried hysterically. Shame and fear engulfed me as the cold air nipped at my exposed womanhood. Ignoring me one mad scientist handed the other a speculum. Her cold eyes never met mine as she motioned for persons to hold down my legs...

.....................................

The memory faded away in front of me like smoke in the wind. I blinked rapidly looking around the room. During my episode, I had ended up sliding to the floor and wrapping my arms around my knees. Alexander was crouch in a few feet away from me with a look of concern on his face. The room was spinning and my lungs were burning from hyperventilation. I reached out my trembling hand to warn them to stop approaching me.

"shhh... Look at me, no one here will ever harm you. The doctor Teresa was just coming in to check on your well being. Please, you're still really sick you need to go back to your bed. I won't let anything happen to you." He said in a soothing quiet voice.

He stood slowly in front of me while reaching a hand down to me with an equal amount of caution. Like you would a wild animal you're trying to let be pet by you. I remained seated on the ground trying to restrain myself from reaching out to this handsome stranger. There was something inside me drawn me to him, as much as I didn't want to acknowledge it. The presence in my mind seemed to be working against me begging me to trust him.

I shook my head and braced myself against the back of the wall attempting to get up on my own. As soon as I stood my legs went out from under me lacking the strength to stand. With faster than humanly possible reflexes Alexander once again had me in his arms. I gasped as the pleasant tingles that once again flooded my body.

His forrest-like scent was intoxicating, it strangely brought me a sense of comfort. I blinked and he was lowering me unto the bed and bringing the warm blanket up and over my legs. I looked to my left and saw the doctor moving towards me. I gripped the blankets about to retreat when Alexander spoke softly beside me, "I know you don't want anyone to touch you but one of us is going to take your vitals and check the incision on your chest."

I kept my eye on the target as she walked towards the bed seemingly expecting me to choose her as my examiner. I stared at her with abject hatred, her attitude unnerved me further. I took a deep breath and decided to risk the beating. "Not you." I declared looking straight at her pale eyes. I almost felt guilty at the surprised, hurt expression that she plastered on her face, but I wasn't so easily fooled anymore. She took a step backward and turned her attention to Alexander.

"Alpha her IV needs to be reinserted, along with her cannula first." She said in a tight voice.

I turned back to the emerald-eyed man with a guarded expression. He gave me a fake name to reassure me. He looked at me inquisitively, a silent question in his eyes. I nodded slightly and silently marvelled in the idea of being asked before someone touched me. His fingertips lightly brushed against my face as he tucked the tubes under my nose and around my ears. My nostriled flared and my lungs expanded, I closed my eyes and breathed quickly not realizing how hard I had been struggling to before.

A hand brushed across my arm and I went to yank it away when I felt the oddly familiar tingles of electricity that seemed to follow Alexander's touch. He had the needle hovering above my skin looking unsure. With a quick glance of an apology and following the doctor's instruction, he pierced one of the blue veins that crawled up my inner arm. He grimaced while I winced. I could have sworn I heard a low animalistic growl coming from his throat but the doctor didn't seem to notice.

A wave of exhausted hit me and I felt like my body was made of stone. I fought to keep my eyes open as the pleasant tingles were radiating from his hand and into my flesh as he gently peeled off my bandages and applied various ointments before carefully rebandaging them. The presence in my head purred so loud it felt like the vibrations were emitting from deep within me. He continued to keep my temperature and something called blood pressure.

The tingles left as soon as his hands did and for the first time, the lack of a stranger touch unsettled me. He looked up at the doctor and both their eyes glazed over as they stood in front of each other. Is that some sort of weird code?  I questioned to myself. The doctor glanced over at me with an odd expression. "It was lovely to meet you, Luna. I will be back later, please get some rest." She spoke with a small smile before giving me a nod and exiting the room. The presence in my head stirred slightly at the new word.

My head jerked back slightly at the new name and my face scrunched up in disgust. I looked back at Alexander who seemed both hurt and confused. I scooted back a little before looking down at his chest, not knowing whether he would be angered my direct eye contact or not.

"Is that my new name?" I asked, finally looking into his troubled eyes.

"Is what your new name?" He questioned gently

"Luna." I spit out the name. His eyes flashed with disappointment before going back to being distant and hard to read.

"Is that name unfamiliar to you?" He studied my face carefully looking for the truth in my response.

I nodded to tired to speak anymore. I wrapped my arms around my mid-drift out of instinct and whimpered when I realized there wasn't anyone in there to protect anymore. I heard another animalistic sound emanating from the room and choose to ignore it. I felt the comforting tingles before my mind drifted into unconsciousness.
