Millie sat in her lit up bedroom after getting dressed, waiting for her daily tap on her window. She had woken up from her alarm, the one she had set for her and Finn just to talk. She smiled and waited at her window, but not showing herself, to trick him in thinking she's not just waiting for him.

Millie smiled softly to herself, preparing to talk to her best friend, and crush. She closed her eyes and had a wide grin on her face, until she heard Finn's window open. She shifted in front of the glass, before lifting it up and seeing Finn's raven curls bounce at his movement. He smiled at her, before she lifted up her side as well.

"Hey." Millie lifted the side of her mouth, and tucked a piece of her brown hair behind her ear, then resting her elbows on the window seal. "Goodmorning, you look pretty today." Finn blushed slightly from his own words and Millie's cheeks got noticeably red as well. "I didn't even do my makeup this morning, and my hair is a mess Finn." Millie chuckled as she gently gestured to her knotted hair, and Finn just nodded. "I know, that's what makes you more beautiful.." He rested his chin on both of his palms, staring at the gorgeous site in front of him.

"You're literally the best person." Millie playfully rolled her eyes in Finn's kind statement. "No you." Finn stated, being forward about his thoughts. "Finn I am not  doing this 'no you' and 'reverse card' bullshit again." Millie laughed and Finn made a look of fake offense. "You enjoy it don't even lie." He smirked, noticing Millie become quiet again, looking down with a tiny smile and red cheeks.

"See, that's what I mean." He blushed as well mentioning her action, just from seeing her tinted cheeks. "Ugh fine. But anyways, how are you doing?" Millie sat up in a more comfortable position, looking Finn in the eyes as close as possible. "U-uh it's just the normal.. chaos and arguments.." Finn's tone of voice changed and he felt his heart race and ache from the mental and psychical pain. Millie frowned as she heard his joyful voice break.

She honestly wished she could just give him a tight hug again, feel his touch again. But he wasn't aloud of the house, he was homeschooled as well, even though he doesn't get taught. She was concerned for his health, and education. She hasn't been able to feel his comforting, gentle, feather like touch in so long. She missed it, she missed being in the same room with him without having to worry about his mom or dad barging into it, being verbally and psychically abusive towards him.

She knocked out of train of thought as she watched a tear fall from his dark brown eyes. "Finn, it's all going to be okay, alright? She asked with sadness and fear, but he just looked up and wiped away his tear. "that's what I'm scared for, what if it never gets better, because from all I know, it just get's worse everyday." He sighed, letting a few more tears fall and Millie felt her eyes water as well from sympathy. "Finn, I promise it will, you just have to let it happen okay? It might take time, it could take one night, you'll just have to find out. You're a strong person Finnie." She put a small smile on her face, and Finn returned it in sadness.

"If I didn't have you I would be gone already Mills." He stated and she felt so grateful, so happy that she's the reason. But she's even more happy that he's attempting to stay strong. "I shouldn't be the only reason.. w-what about your future?" Millie stuttered out, before hearing Finn's raspiness come out in his sigh. "I won't have a future.." He breathed out before closing his window, letting out his bottled, salty, warm, tears.

Millie took in a shaky breath from shock, she didn't expect him to shut her out. She wanted him to feel like he could talk to her. She stared at his window for a few more seconds, and then closed hers slowly.   She walked back to her cold bed and made herself comfortable once again under the covers in defeat.

Finn sat on his dirtied, stained carpet, that had blood and a single rusty razor on it. He leaned up against his mattress, with his back touching it. He cried, but not loud enough for his parents to hear. He didn't have to worry about his dad hearing, he's probably passed out on the living room sofa right now with a bottle of alcohol in his hand.

Finn thought of his parents, their horrible fights, it's sad that he can just hear their bickering, smacking, and loud bangs from items being thrown around the mess he calls a house.

He can see his fathers large hands smack his mothers face, as she stumbles over. He can see his father pass out on the couch, snoring while his mom beats her own son, yelling at him that it's his fault. He was weak. So weak, from everything. The words, the hitting, the blaming.

"You're a strong person Finnie." He recited the words that Millie said to him not too long ago, and he slightly smiled at the memory of her beautiful morning face. He only smiled for a few seconds before-

"GET OUT OF MY GODDAMN HOUSE THEN!" He closed his eyes shut tight as he overheard the loud screaming from downstairs. "You know, I never loved you! You or your son!" Finns father yelled and in reaction he gripped his dark curls, pulling them and sobbing, unintentionally rocking back in forth.

"That's your son too! Don't even put the blame on me!" After those few words he heard a piece of glass fall, and not to long after, a scream that lead after a gasp. He looked up and stared at his unlocked door. He immediately rushed to the door to lock it, using all his might to push against the surface. .

He was now leaning up against the door, getting prepared for himself to get beaten. He grabbed the razor that was near his sitting position and hovered it above his veiny wrist. He stopped as he felt the sudden vibrations of his fathers heavy boots stomping on the stairs. His head shot up, looking at his doorknob wiggling around because of his dad's hands trying to force the door open. His dad stuck a key in, and Finn's eyes widened from fear, and he felt his father push the door opened. He let a few more tears fall. "Found you.."
