power outage
part one

A MONTH AND a half had passed since Anna ran around a giant twister to save the city and almost killed herself in the process, but the hero work hadn't slacked for her and the rest of the team.

Since their run-in with the water meta, the CCHS—as Shannon called them—had fought against a countless bad guys; a metahuman would could turn into poisonous gas; a criminal that Cisco called Captain Cold who had a gun that could weaken Anna and Barry; a meta who could turn whatever she touched into bombs; and Barry's high school bully who had taken a liking to Iris.

Not only did Anna and Barry save the city countless times from dangerous metas and a criminal with a cold gun, but they had been given hero names thanks to Barry's small chat with Iris about the articles she began writing about 'The Yellow Streak and The White and Blue Blur' —a bit cheesy, in Anna's opinion, but it got the job done. Barry was named The Flash and Anna was called Swift. Not only did the two speed metas get fame from online articles, but Rupture was written into some articles and was becoming a big deal, too.

Along with being a hero of Central City, Anna had become a girlfriend. She and Joel had met up for coffee and dinner multiple times after their first encounter and had decided to start dating within the first two weeks of meeting each other. Now that Joel was in her life as a boyfriend, she hadn't even thought about Barry as a potential love interest and looked at him as nothing more than a friend—and she didn't hate Barry anymore because he apologized profusely and the brunette had finally gotten over her grudge.

Anna tapped her pen on her kneecap and looked down at the notepad on the desk in front of her, puffing her cheeks up with air and then exhaling at the emptiness of the page. When Emily got engaged a week ago—big celebration, lots of booze that Anna couldn't get drunk from, and enough junk food to make a bodybuilder fat—she assigned Anna and Shannon as her maids of honour which meant the two of them had to plan her bachelorette party and find dresses before the wedding next year. Unfortunately for Emily, Anna and Shannon had no idea how to plan a bachelorette party so the two girls enlisted Caitlin as a helper.

"Male strippers?" Anna suggested and nudged Caitlin's sides with her fingers, wigging her eyebrows as she looked back and forth between the two girls.

"Definitely not," Cisco piped up from behind Shannon, shaking his head back and forth wildly. "My girlfriend is not going anywhere near a male stripper." His eyes narrowed at Shannon and he pointed a finger at her.

Yeah, that happened, too. Emily got engaged, Anna got with Joel, and Shannon got with Cisco—a lot can happen in a month and a half, apparently.
