rogue time
part two

"SO THERE'S CISCO being pulled into a car by Snart's sister," Harrison said and pointed at the screen. He pushed a few buttons on the surveillance footage, zooming in toward the license plate. "And the license plate is iced over."

Barry slammed his fist onto the desk he was sitting at angrily and groaned, causing Anna to rest her hands on his shoulders. "Alright, Dr. Wells, you were right," he said and looked over toward the man in the wheelchair, his eyebrows furrowing. "I screwed with time, now time is screwing with me. Cold is back, he kidnapped Cisco, and Anna—"

Harrison held up his hand, silencing the brown-haired boy. "Stop right there before you cause another disruption to the timeline," he stated and shook his head, his eyes moving to Anna and then back to Barry.

"Please, Dr. Wells," Barry said softly and laced his fingers together, propping his elbows on his knees. "Please, I have to talk to someone."

Harrison sighed and ran a hand over his hair, nodding slowly. "Go ahead," he said.

"Should I go? I wouldn't want my presence to screw with anything," Anna said and dropped her hands from Barry's shoulders, tucking her hair behind her ears.

"No, stay. Please," Barry said and turned his chair, grabbing the girls hand tightly in his. He looked back at Harrison and released Anna's hand, returning his to his lap. "In the previous version of today, Captain Singh is seriously injured, Joe is in danger, and Anna..." he looked up at the brunette, causing her eyebrows to furrow, "admitted she had feelings for me."

"And now Cisco's life is on the line and Anna has no idea that she ever had those feelings," Harrison said and wheeled closer to the boy, his eyes not leaving him.

Barry looked back at Harrison, his tongue running over his lips. "But you still have them, right?" He asked and looked up at Anna.

Anna swallowed a lump that had formed in her throat, folding her arms over her chest. She exhaled deeply and shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know, Barr. I mean, I look at you and I don't see anything more than a friend. I'm sorry," she said softly and rested her hand on Barry's shoulder, giving it a light squeeze even though things between them had grown increasingly awkward.

"The unconscious mind, Barry, is a powerful thing. It sounds like it took this apparent disaster to jar those feelings loose. And without that disaster, those feelings remain deeper down," Harrison explained and cleared his throat, his eyes moving to his niece, and Anna could tell by the look on his face that he was embarrassed to even discuss her feelings. "Un-accessed," he finished and looked back at Barry, causing the brown-haired boy to sigh and drop his head down.
