A/N: Happy new year lovelies! I hope you're enjoying yourselves however you're celebrating! Last year was the first New Year I wasn't working and I was eight months pregnant so I couldn't celebrate. This year isn't much different, I'm in my pj's, my husband is snoring on the couch and I'm in my rocking chair, which once belonged to my great grandma, rocking the baby sleeping on my chest. "Please Mommy!" Toby jumps up and down in the lot as Sarah looks at me like she wants to kill me and I can't help but laugh

"Come on then little guy." I nod as he runs to my motorcycle. Today I'm spending the day with Sarah and Tobias, but as soon as he saw my motorcycle he wanted a ride. I straddle the bike and lift Toby into my lap, straddling the gas tank
"I'll start slow, if you don't like it tell me to stop ok?" I say and he nods, I start the engine and slowly roll forward. After five laps of the lot I stop beside Sarah, her face the picture of fear
"Was that fun?" Sarah smiles as she lifts Toby from my lap
"So much fun! I want one!" He jumps up and down and Sarah's gaze burns me again
"Can we go to the zoo on it? Please Mommy?"
"No can do little guy, there's three of us, we'll go in the truck today, but I'll take you for a ride another time." I promise, I'm sure I'll be in trouble for that one.
"Ok where do we want to go first?" Sarah says as she looks at the map of the zoo
"The lions!" Toby yells excitedly
"You got it little one." Sarah smiles as she takes his hand and we head off, then Toby takes my hand too, fuck he's so little.
A few hours later and Toby sits on my shoulders, his face painted like a tiger and eating candy, he roars like the bears we've just seen and I roar back. This is so much fun, seeing everything through his innocence just brings a damn smile to my face I can't wipe off
"Ok boys how about a pit stop, Mommy could use some coffee." Sarah says pointing to a cafe
"Mommy can I go play?" Toby asks as I set him down looking at the jungle gym, she looks around a little unsure
"Go ahead little man." I smile before turning to Sarah "Go sit at that table right by the jungle gym and I'll get your coffee."
"Thank you." Sarah smiles, her face relaxing as she follows after Toby.
"What a lovely family you have." An elderly lady in front of me in the line smiles as she looks over to Sarah and Toby, I should correct her, but it's too complicated
"Thanks." I smile and go back to reading the board, even though I already know what to order.
"Thank you." Sarah smiles as I sit beside her, although she doesn't take her eyes off her son
"Not just for the coffee, for today, I've never seen him so happy." She finally tears her eyes away from Toby to look at me and I see her eyes are rimmed with tears
"Sorry." She sniffles as she wipes her eyes with the back of her hand
"I just wish he could've had this with his dad, the happier I see him now the more I realise how unhappy he was in Boston."
"He's a cute kid." I shrug. I want to say he could've been my kid if she hadn't left, but I think I've pushed that point far enough.
"I think he had fun." Sarah giggles softly as she looks back at Toby fast asleep
"I had fun." I smile, I really did. It felt so good to just forget everything for the day and enjoy it.
"You don't know how much today means to me." She says as she laces her fingers with mine on the console. I lift our hands and press my lips to the back of her hand
"How about tomorrow night I take you on a date? Just the two of us." I ask
"I'd love that." She smiles "You know, Tobias is probably going to pass out as soon as his head hits the pillow."
"Should I leave my door unlocked?" I smirk, I like this side of her, she was always shy when it came to sex, but now she's confident, she can take the lead and she can fucking take what I give.
"I got him, you grab that." I say as I lift Toby out of the back seat, his head flopping against my shoulder. Sarah grabs the huge ass teddy bear and I follow her up to her room, she pulls back the covers and I lay him down on the bed.
"Give me ten minutes." Sarah smiles at me, a spark in her eyes and I wink as I creep out of her room.
