"How long is it gonna take?" I groan as I pace Circuits office.
"As long as it takes, you think you can be quicker?" He asks looking up at me with a raised brow before turning back to his computer. Skye is helping Sarah find dirt on her husband, but she has Circuit trying to find who's paying him large sums of money on the regular
"Skye just sent me something else." He says as he pulls up the email
StarrySkye: Babe, you have to see this, our secret.
He opens the attachment and we both burst out laughing. Sarah's husband is bound to a wooden table with leather straps as a woman in a latex dress runs a riding crop over his bare chest
"Who's a naughty boy?" She asks
"I am." He groans, then she whips him across the chest
"What did you say?" She asks
"I'm a naughty boy, Ma'am." He replies
"This is funny shit." Circuit laughs "I bet when she shows Charlie she has this he won't be able to sign the divorce papers fast enough."
Fuck I hope so.
"Cordelia is gonna love this." Circuit chuckles as he forwards it to her, nothing ever stays secret in this clubhouse.
"What's the betting she starts buying whips and paddles." I joke as Circuit laughs
"Poor prez." Circuit replies shaking his head.
A couple of days later and Sarah has everything in place
"You can do this." Cordelia says as we sit in Circuits office. Sarah is about to call Charles and let him know the divorce papers are on the way, I hate seeing her look so terrified.
"I'm going to bounce the signal so no one can trace where we are." Circuit explains.
"Ok." Sarah nods, Cordelia takes her hand as Circuit puts in the call and I take Sarah's other hand, she smiles at me softly
"Hello?" Her husbands voice comes through the speaker
"Charles it's Sarah." She says shakily
"Where are you? I've been so worried, is Tobias alright? It's so good to hear your voice." He replies, that wasn't the reaction I was expecting and by the look on Sarah's face she wasn't expecting it either. After the cops found out Sarah had bought a car and gone of her own free will they stopped treating it as a kidnapping.
"Tobias is fine, he's happy." Sarah replies, I hear a door close in the background
"Where are you you stupid bitch? Do you have any idea how embarrassed my family are by your absence?" He growls, there he is, that's what I expected
"I want you and our son back here by tonight or so help me Sarah." He adds. I feel her hand begin to shake in mine as she looks to Cordelia. Cordelia nods and mouths 'you got this' and Sarah nods back
"We are not coming back Charles. I'm divorcing you and keeping my son." Sarah says strongly
"Are you fucking crazy? Where are you? I'm coming to get you. You are my wife and you will come back here with our son." Charles growls
"No Charles. I'm not letting you hurt me or Tobias again." Sarah replies
"You think what I did before hurt, you haven't seen anything yet for showing me up like this. I will ruin you and I will never let you see Tobias again you stupid whore." Ok now I'm getting angry. Circuit types in his computer and then nods to Sarah
"You should be receiving an email that may change your mind." Sarah says, like she practiced so many times this morning. There's silence for a few minutes and then the sound of glass breaking
"Where did you get this?" He asks
"It doesn't matter. Sign the divorce papers, I don't want any of your money, even though the prenup says I should get one point five million, I just want sole custody of Tobias. Sign the papers or I release everything to the press." Sarah explains
"You'll pay for this." He spits
"I will never contact you again Charles. You will never see me or Tobias again, tell your family whatever you want I don't care. Goodbye." Sarah nods to Circuit
"You fucking...." Charles yells as Circuit cuts the call
"You did good." Cordelia smiles as she pulls Sarah into a hug
"Even through the phone he terrifies me." Sarah sighs as a tear slips down her cheek
"You're safe and you're back with your family where you belong." Cordelia smiles.
"Do you think he knows where I am?" Sarah asks Circuit
"There's no way to trace the call or the email I made sure of it." Circuit explains
"You good if I head back to the clinic? Doc and I flipped a coin and I have to redress Mr Ellis' feet." Cordelia shudders.
"I'm ok." Sarah smiles but I know she's lying. Cordelia leaves and Sarah follows but Circuit stops me from going after her
"What's going on with you two?" He asks
"Nothing." I shrug
"Yeah, it looked like nothing while you were holding her hand, you looked ready to jump through the phone when her ex started talking shit." Circuit replies
"What's it to you anyway?" I growl
"I just don't want you to get hurt again man. You changed when she left and it's only recently the old you started coming back and then she showed up again." Circuit sighs
"I can take care of myself." I reply before walking away. I head for the stairs when I hear a crash come from the kitchen
"Darn." Sarah curses as she kneels down
"Are you ok?" I ask as I kneel beside her
"I didn't see the glass and knocked it with the baking sheet." Sarah sighs as she picks up the broken glass, tears running down her cheeks
"Let me." I say as I help her clean it up
"I'm sorry." She sobs as she wipes her cheek with the back of her hand. I stop and pull her to her feet, backing her against the counter
"It's ok Sarah, why are you crying?" I ask as I wipe her other cheek with my thumb
"I just, hearing his voice brought it all back and I feel so stupid. I shouldn't have stayed, if I had left sooner Tobias wouldn't have a cast on his arm." She sobs, I tilt her chin and lean down, pressing my lips to hers
"Want me to help you forget for a while?" I ask, the same way she asked me last time. I brush my lips along her jaw and to her sensitive spot as I feel her nod against me. I grip her hips and lift her onto the counter
"Don't be gentle." She says as she unbuckles my belt.
