Two days later.

I sighed, flipping my body around so my back was now getting a tan.

I was sitting on my rock, sun blaring on my body so I could get a bit of a tan in. It wasn't the sunniest of days but at least it wasn't raining like it was the past two days.

And past two days had been rather, uneventful.

I mean I'd spent the past two days training the newbies, especially in hand to hand combat.

I mean, they were all shit and I took each of them down within seconds. Then again I remember my days being a newbie, I was horrible.

I was so horrible at everything that I got a broken a finger, rib and dislocated my knee all within the first week of my level one training. It seemed the newbies now were doing way better then I ever could.

We had an infirmary at the base where you were sent to when you were injured, which is where more then half of my team I trained over the past two days ended up. The infirmary contained just a doctor and a nurse. So when more than one was person was injured at a time, you had to wait to be seen too.

We also had the infirmary on hand as going to the hospital was never really an option unless it was literally a life or death situation. And it was an hours drive away, no point of driving an hour when you just need ice for a bruise, or a band-aid. But the thing with the infirmary, or with Double A at least, is that the rules are simple. Once they patch you up, depending on the injury, you were either sent straight back out to training, or were given a day or two off.

It sounds inhuman but it does teach you to toughen the hell up.

My phone beeped, scaring me a little as it was sat next to my head.

I picked it up to see it was a message from Holland. He was just sending the group chat some random meme he'd found. And then he proceeded to send me a separate message saying they were going in for a meeting.

Holland had also informed me two days ago that they'd found two new recruits for the job, but of course they weren't as good as me. And had to be caught up on everything... They should have kept me!

Today they were having a meeting with DeMo and and the council to discuss their next move. The data Dee had retrieved had come in very handy apparently. But of course neither of them were telling Holland what was on it so he had to wait, which meant I had to wait.

I sat up, crossing my legs as I placed my phone into my backpack I'd brought along, looking out over the lake. Watching as a school of fish swam past.

I was at my favorite spot. My secret place. It was at a secluded lake, half way between the city and half way between the base. Right in the middle, yet still in the middle of no where.
