Two weeks later.
'No way!' Dee said as I held my phone up to my ear.
"Yes way, it was fucking weird and he smelt like the inside of a shoe. I tried so hard not to throw up every time I was around him." I explained, telling Dee all about my mission which was successful, but definitely not pleasant.
"Order for Lav!" I jumped up out of the seat I'd just been sitting in as I was waiting for my takeaway to be cooked in the small Italian restaurant I often came to that was just around the corner from my apartment.
This was the one place I came to where they called me by my real name. I mean I'm good friends with the owners now having come here for so long, so many times a week when I'm in. How are you supposed to explain to someone your names Red and you have no nickname?
Sometimes it's just easier to tell the truth.
You see, the night I got my job file from Double A's office was the night before I was to go on my most recent mission. We usually get time to prepare for going on a mission but sometimes they're urgent and we're required to leave only hours after being told about the job and being fitted for outfits.
So that night I decided to do some investigating of my own.
When everyone was asleep, or supposed to be at least, I snuck my way back into the building. Actually I didn't sneak my way in as there was no need to considering I had access to pretty much everything. So I made my way into the building and up to the technology room without seeing anyone thank god.
I'd hate for people to be asking questions or trying to get into my business.
Thankfully I'd caught a night when Dee wasn't in at her desk when I had entered, she often stayed back to work on different things.
Anyway, I got into one of the computers and decided to run some background information on my parents... Yes my dead parents.
It felt so wrong and odd to be looking through their profiles yet again, the last time I did this was when I got access to the computers the day I level up from a one to a two. Two's and threes only had access to this stuff, and either way most didn't use it.
We couldn't get onto those horrible apps like Instagram and Facebook on the computers here so most brought their own computers and phones for that kind of stuff.
I hated the idea of using a social media app, one wrong photo or tweet and you could either be a, killed or b, fired.
And I liked being alive and I loved my job, so I wasn't going to risk it.
Whereas someone like Katherine, she has every fucking app you could think of and I'm pretty sure she's posted on the 'noticeboards' what her social media names are. We have two of these 'noticeboards' on each level where people like to thumb tack things they like or are doing into them. I never pay attention to them.
