The Sick Dragon - Sophie

--- Lucy's Pov ---

"Kon'nichiwa Mina-san!" I yell as I skip happily into my guild, Fairy Tail. Half the guild responded with a happy smile while the other half let out a drunken howl. Ahhh... good ol' Fairy Tail.

"Lucy! Over here!" Yelled a white haired mage behind the counter. Mira waved me over with a jolly smile. I walked over and sat down across from her.

Next to Mira, on the counter, sat Happy who was looking up at me with his normal grin. But what seemed off was that Natsu wasn't with Happy or pretty much anyone else in the guild. He wasn't even fighting with Gray or Gajeel.

"Where's Natsu?" I say curiously and looked back and forth at the two in front of me.

"He's sick." Happy snorted, "believe it or not."

"Sick? HAH!" I laughed and slapped my knee. "Good one. Natsu never gets sick." They both looked with blank expressions and it took me a few moments to realize they weren't messing around. "Y-you arent lying..."

Mira gave a small giggle and placed a glass of water in front of me, something that I usually ask for every morning. "Natsu may seem like he holds many immunities but sometimes, all the things he kept away just impact him greatly later. A pretty odd superpower I guess."

I nod and took a gulp of my water, the ice clinging up against the glass.

"Maybe you can go meet with him." She offered. "He probably needs the company."

Slowly, I smiled and nodded to the bartender. "Hai hai!" I exclaimed and stood up from my stool and looked at Happy. "Are you coming along?"

"Nah, Natsu acts very... different when he's sick. you'll see." The Exceed shrugged and waved me off with his paw as Mira-Jane gave him a fish.

"Uh... ok." I say a little unsure about that fact. "Then bye!"

"Bye Lucy! Have fun with Natsu!" Mira winked and I headed out of the guild, sighing at her last gesture.

--- Third Person POV ---

"Natsu?" Lucy called softly through the door, not wanting to disturb him if he was asleep. There was no answer. "I-I'm coming in..." Lucy said hesitantly and slowly turned the handle. Once she stepped inside, closing the door behind her, a cold shiver ran up Lucy's spine. It was freezing, not at all how his house normally was.

On the other side of the house of a dragon slayer, laying face down in his Hammock Bed.

Lucy brought up a small smile and made her way towards him. Once she got to his side, she flipped him over to look at his face. Natsu was pale (not normal), with black circles under his eyes (also not normal), and had beads of sweat on his face (not normal unless he is in a fight).

Natsu shivered slightly and opened his eyes to look up at the celestial mage. "Hey... Luce." He croaked and tugged on his thin blanket.

"Natsu." Lucy nodded and placed the back of her hand on his forehead. "So you really are sick, huh?"

Natsu manage a small laugh and shook his head, making Lucy pull her hand back. "Surprising right? Nobody believes that I can catch a cold."

"Well you are the opposite of cold."

"So you're saying I'm hot?"

"Yeah... wait... NO NOT LIKE THAT I MEAN-!" Lucy tried to correct herself but was cut off by Natsu's loud laugh... which slowly turned into a coughing fit.

Lucy stepped over all of Natsu's hoarded items and quickly filled a cup with water and gave it to him in which he immediatly took, gulping it down. "th-thanks..." he muttered, a small frown on his face as he layed back down.
