Chase - Sophie

"Natsu, damn it wait up! I'm not abnormally fast as you!" Lucy yelled as she struggled to keep up to her partner's pace.

"Not my fault you eat too much Lucy." Natsu retorted.

Lucy glared at him and grabbed the end of his scarf, pulling him backwards. The dragon slayer gagged and fell onto his back with a thump.

"Agh! Jeez, Luce." he growled and tried to get up but lucy just pushed him back down. "What's your problem?"

"You said you found something of mine and that you wanted to show it to me. But then you just take off without me!" Lucy snapped.

"Oh yeaaahhhh..." he said like he just now realized. "Then.."

The celestial wizard stared at him, waiting for his response.

But instead, he jumped up and grabbed Lucy's keys, strapping them to his waist. "You'll have to reclaim it."

Natsu smirked and set off into the streets of Magnolia.

Lucy stood there with shock before trying to find him again. "Thats unfair!" She yelled into the crowd, earning a few odd looks but she didn't care.

After awhile of pushing through the crowds, she saw a glimpse of Natsu's scarf disappear down a side street. "gotcha..." she said to herself.

The blonde sprinted down the block and saw Natsu preparing to jump over a fence.

She grinned in triumph and ran at full speed. Ahead of her Natsu jumped over the high fence and look at Lucy from the other side, he held the keys up for her to see. He looked pleased.

Lucy stuck her hand through the fence and tried to grab her keys but Natsu just pulled them out of her reach.

"Natsu! Give them back!" She cried.

Natsu stared at her in confusion at her sudden sob. He just remembered how important the keys were to her, they were literally part of her family. And not to mention Loke, he was a close friend of his.

He watch in guilt as Lucy began to cry even more. his partner sank to the ground and looked up at Natsu with a sad expression.

"H-hey dont cry, Luce..." Natsu stuttered and hesitantly jumped over the fence, kneeling in front of her.

Lucy looked away from him which made the dragon slayer frown. He looked at the keys in his hand and attached them to her belt. "I'm sorry."

Lucy looked over at him and slowly smiled.

Natsu helped her up and wrapped his arm around her in his friendly-kind of way and gave a toothy grin. "lets go on a job, eh?"

"Hai!" Lucy sniffled and gave a joyful smile, blushing lightly. "I bet I can beat you to the guild."

"Yeah right." Natsu laughed and soon the both joined together as the ran neck and neck to the guild.
