Kirishima POV

It started off as just another day of being a hero. Then Katsuki called me which I thought was odd because he was supposed to be resting and then going to court later. I answered anyway "yo what's up?"

"It's Sho, I don't know what happened, he said he was cold but he was burning up and I realised it was his quirk being wierd so I went to get Aizawa. I was literally gone for fifteen fucking minutes"
"Hey it's okay breathe okay, take your time"
"When I got back they said his quirk had got completely out of control and he was in critical condition"
"Okay stop right there, you at the hospital? I'll meet you there" he hung up and I headed over to the hospital. It was wierd seeing Shoto's whole family in the same room. Then I saw Katsuki, he looked awful "you okay bro?" I already knew the answer. "Come with me to see him?" He had obviously been putting it off "of course man, let's go see him"

I knew it was going to be bad. You don't go into critical condition for no reason but even still it was unsettling. Seeing Shoto unconscious and hooked up to loads of machines even had me spooked. I wasn't going to show how freaked out I was so that I could be there for my best friend. He obviously needed me to be strong so he could break down, and understandably so.

He held onto Shoto's hand and cried "Sho, p...please come back to me" the thing that made the whole thing worse was knowing it was all because of Deku. He made Shoto overuse his quirk and this was the result. After a while I had to get Katsuki to leave "hey, we gotta go, court is soon, his family will look after him" he nodded and walked over to me. "We gotta get going, keep an eye on him and let us know if anything changes" I stated. We got changed into suits and headed to the court house.

They brought Deku in and he was smiling. It was the smile of someone who was completely insane. Everyone said their piece then the thing that surprised me was the judge "we also had a last minute report claiming that Izuku Midoryia is guilty of rape" had Shoto told them, he couldn't have done he hadn't had chance to even leave the hospital. Katsuki stood up and headed over to the stand.

Katsuki made his statement but without straight up lying he made it seem like he was the victim not Shoto. It was super manly of him. "And where is Shoto Todoroki now?" I saw Katsuki clench his jaw "he's in hospital, in his attempt to protect me when we went to apprehend Midoryia he overused the ice side of his quirk. This has resulted in him being in critical condition and as of right now we don't know if he'll pull through" he paused "that's all" he left the stand and proceeded to leave the room. I followed him "dude, is he really that bad?"

"Yeah, before you got to the hospital they told us he's in a coma. They can't say how long he'll be in there or if he'll ever get out" it was worse than I had thought. Once he had pulled himself together again we re-entered the room. "Now that you're back we may proceed. The jury has made their decision and Izuku Midoryia will spend twenty five years in our high security prison for villains for his crimes."

On one hand he was paying for everything he had done, but on the other hand my best friend was hurting because of him and that was a pain I couldn't even begin to imagine. "I know I've said it before but I mean it okay if you ever need anything I'm here for you" I assumed he wouldn't want to go home "wanna stay at mine? I'll invite the squad and it can be just like high school again" he smiled a little "yeah, I'd like that"

I texted the old group chat.
💪: yo Katsuki needs cheering up meet at mine in an hour we're spending the night

We laughed a little at the dumb emojis we had set for ourselves and headed to my house.

Before we knew it we were all in the house I grabbed a few beers and put them on the side for anyone to have. Mina came and sat next to me before giving me a little kiss "how's he doing?" She asked quietly. "Katsuki seems to be okay but Shoto's in a coma" she stopped in her tracks. "It's that bad?" I nodded.
