I stare at Kizan with wide eyed shock. I had not expected those words to come from his mouth. 

I gather myself quickly

"So what are you planning to continue where you left off"

"No". He growled moving closer

"I told you. i am simply helping her recover"

I suspected there was more to it but said nothing

Suddenly i felt as if this was a "Taron - Lucinda" situation all over again

Old insecruties and doubts began to resurface but i forced them down. I wasn't that girl anymore, If Kizan wanted his old dragon girlfriend he could have her. i had bigger things to worry over and think about. 

"Whatever you say Kizan. let me know when you decide who it is you truly want, I might still be available

I turned and stalked away putting an extra confidently sassy switch to my hips as i walked back into the medical tent

I stood beside Sinik as he was scanned and then patched up. I kept my gaze adverted when Kizan returned to his "friend"

Taylen woke before me in the small hut we were given. Smacking my face from beside me as he babbled nonsense. I'm pretty sure it translated to "please feed me" because that was exactly what my own stomach was screaming at the moment

I climbed out the bed scopped him up and walked out. I realized the sun had already set as I headed to where they dropped my father off earlier. I watched as he emerged from his own tent.

"Dad where can we get some food around here?, me and Tay are starved" 

He grabbed him up with a kiss to his cheek

"This way its dinner time right now" he said as he wallked 

I followed looking around. I wondered where Emil and Nax were

When we reached a large clearing with 2 enormously long tables, The scent of food instantly wafted to me making my stomach ache with hunger. Heaps of roasted meats and veggies with a few pieces fruit laid out along them. I saw no breads or pastries or anything more which didn't surprise me. This place was in the middle of the wilds and all the food was likely caught and cooked over an open fire.

 I noticed people or dragons seated everywhere. some even chose the floor instead of a chair. Immediately i spied Nax and Emil seated together and rushed over to him, so happy to see familiar faces

"Emil!" i called i reached out to hug him

His smile was large as he hugged me back

"Ayla you made it finally. what took you so long?" he asked 

I sighed deeply

 "i will tell you all about it" i told him while i moved to sit across from them

My father sat beside me plating food for Taylen 

"Hello Nax how are you" i asked politely. he nodded lightly and went back to eating

"So what happened A? you were supposed to be here months ago"

"After i gave brith my father needed a bit more time to convince his sister to come with us"

He nodded 

"So she wont join us huh?"

i shook my head

 "She is loyal to her husband who is loyal to the corrupted council" my father answered solemnly
