The alarm continued to blare loud and shrill

Immediately  my hackles rose, sensing danger. I ripped my top and used my powers to quickly create a sling, securing Taylen snuggly to my chest. I needed my hands freed

Using my powers i lowered myself from the cliff. The clan was in chaos. Dragons had taken flight and were spewing fire, charring everything in sight. I could not barely see through the suffocating fumes.

I rushed into the commotion  looking for my father, Sinik anyone

I spotted the enemy a moment later.  they were in the middle of the clearing. Standing amidst the uproar. Confidently. 

Their leader wasn't Dakkar though. I could not sense the dark familiar presence of his obsession within me. The leader appeared to be cloaked. His face was shielded as he watched his minions execute destruction.

Many dragons  fought off their henchmen viciously, but it appeared  they were prepared, because all the dragons couldnt maintain their shifter form. They shifted sporatedically,  between dragon and human

They have a ward! i realized 

I observed They also had a few other psychics as i felt a persistent pressure weighing in my head and thoughts

I recognized the feeling from when Helia attempted to mind corrupt me

Luckily the one thing they did not anticipate was  me. 

I needed to take out the ward and hide Taylen. This battle would likely  be me alone, i realized 

Everyone would see my potential for mass evil and destruction, but what choice did I have

I noticed Sinik cutting down some elementals. Black clouds gathered overheard ominous and threatening. Thunder crackled and rumbled

"SIN!!" i called out as he dispatched the latest man to come at him

He raced for me. 

Amidst the mayhem a man charged for  me

Quickly i knocked him aside. He landed into the large surrounding cliffs with a sickening crunch

"AYLA!! are you ok?" he asked as he reached me

"YES. I NEED YOU TO TAKE TAYLEN!"  I shouted over the deafening  chaos

He studied me for a second before his eyes widened 

"NO AYALA! you cannot!"

"TRUST ME" i said hurriedly handing him Taylen "FIND MY FATHER!!! GET OUTTA HERE!!"

"I WILL NOT-"

"SIN IF YOU CARE AND TRUST ME AT ALL, YOU WILL LISTEN.  I WILL STOP THEM, BUT I NEED TO KNOW TAYLEN IS SAFE!!"

He hesitated a moment then pressed a quick kiss on my lips and bolted with Taylen in his arms

Screams and outrage echoed all around me but all i could feel was the calm. The calm of the battle  and the beating or my steady breaths as i readied myself to reveal everything. All i had so carefully kept hidden about myself for so long

I easily spotted the Ward as he walked every dragon involuntarily shifted. He looked smugly satisfied

I pryed a huge chunk of rock from the nearby cliff and tossed it at him focusing my power to be certain i didnt miss

It took him unaware, He spun towards it as it hit him square in the head. A horrible crack sounded as he tumbled to the ground, likely dead

I smirked advancing towards the enemy unfazed as they attempted to scare me off with their mediocre display of powers.
