The sun had just began to disappear when we finally reached the place i felt Ayla was being kept. Just as the finder told me, Ayla's essence called to my own drawing me straight here. 

My warriors and I stood just inside the forest spying on the structure. We would scope our their security measures before we attacked. We had to be cautious and smart since It was highly likely they had wards and supernaturals with  formidable powers, Perhaps even some traitorous fae too. 

This  meant that we would have to rely on only our fighting prowess. 

We watched all night until the moon was towering above luminosu and imposing. Then my impatience and anxiety had us charging forward

The guard met us and was quickly dispatched. Almost immediately more men poured from within the massive home rushing us and as expected wards were among them

I unsheathed my sword and jumped from my horse. Killing everything in my path. Blood soaked me, but i kept going. Kept cutting down all in the path separating me from my woman. Our men were evenly matched in number but definitely not in skill. It took longer than i wanted to defeat all the men but we prevailed 

 however Just as the last man fell

A commotion from within the home erupted capturing everyone's attention

The windows suddenly blew out shattering and spraying tiny shards of glass everywhere. Then  ear splitting screams pierced the air. My men looked at me for what they should do

I myself hesitated.

 i didn't know what was happening  inside and didn't want to send my men into a dangerous situation but my love was in there. I had to retrieve her no matter what it took. I had already decided to forfeit my life if that was what was required to save her. just as long as she was safe i would be satisfied with that outcome

Just as my mind was made up to storm inside, a figure charged from the woods on his stead heading toward us dodging the dead bodies splayed across the grounds

I tensed in anticipation of an attack until the figure grew closer

Hunter! how had he known we were here?

"Hunter!"  i called as he approached jumping off his horse and racing to me

"I'm glad i caught up to you" he said breathing heavily

"How did you find us?"

"It is a long story, my friend but right now i have to tell you-"

He stopped speaking abruptly staring ahead in shock. The color draining from his face had me turning to follow his gaze

My eyes bulged as i too froze in shock

"Adora???"  he whispered in disbelief, his hungry gaze eating up the sight of her like the starved man he surely was

She turned toward him as if she heard his whispered voice. she sucked in a sharp breath with tearfilled eyes she raced into his arms

Hunter let out a tortured sound as he caught her and hugged her to him, suffocatingly tight. I stood looking on, wondering how the hell it was possible she was alive. 

Hunter dropped to his knees with her as they cried and laughed then he pressed his lips against hers in a searing kiss that began to make everyone around them uncomfortable

I cleared my throat hoping to bring them out of the loving bubble of happiness they had been encased in and back to reality

I was truly ecstatic for Hunter but my woman, their daughter was still somewhere inside that house of horrors
