Everyone stood sunned as the truth seeped in. Nax had betrayed us all.

I spotted Emil helping with the cleanup. I raced to his side, glad to see he had escaped the battle unscathed. 

Emil he looked at me as i approached

"Ayala! Are you alright?. those bastards came out of nowhere" he said running his eyes over me worriedly 

"I'm fine. Have you seen Nax?"

He shook his head 

"No. Not since last night. Why? Did he get hurt?" he asked, concern on his face. I wondered if they had become very close in the time I was gone

"No...he..It was him Emil" i told him sadly

The others walked over, joining the conversation

"It was him what?" Emil questioned curiously

"He was the one that betrayed us. He was leading that group that tried to kill us just now"

A dozen emotions flittered across his face before he finally settled on one.

Disbelief, horror, confusion,  sadness then Anger

"How do you know" he asked as if he already knew it to be true, but simply wanted the information anyway.

I ran through the story same as i had told the others. when i was finished his mild anger had morphed to boiling fury

"We know you have spent time with him while you both were here. We need to know as much about him as we can. Can you remember anything useful he told you?" Kizan asks

"No we spoke often, but never about anything substantial. Im sorry. Thinking back he always seemed to avoid those type of conversations. I guess now i know why"

I turned to Sinik. 

"Sin he was apart of your trained warriors. Do you know anything about him? I mean surely you know something"

Sinik stared at me seeming in thought, then shook his head frustrated

"There are thousands in the fae army. He was assigned to the royal guard not by me but your grandfather. he always insisted on  hand picking his own guards." 

"What about his powers. do you know what those are? Has he ever used them?"

"Not that i have ever seen. His powers always seemed normal. Like the average fae, not anything extraordinary about them"

"Well he wouldn't be working with Dakkar so closely if his powers were only mediocre. And if what he has tried to do to Ayla in her dreams is any indication. He is quite powerful" My father commented

I nodded in agreement, It was now  abundantly clear that Not much was known about Nax and probably for a good reason. He meant to remain a secret,

"Are we just gonna ignore the obvious here?" Kizan wife Elreya asked

"What obvious is that?" I asked her immediately irritated 

"You. You're dangerous. we all saw what you did. What's to say you wont turn on us and kill us all" she screeched

"Elreya" Kizan growled warningly

"What? Its true shes too dangerous. She shouldn't be here"

A loud snarl erupted from Sinik

"You are an ungrateful wretched pathetic excuse for a female". Snik sneered

She gasped in outrage as Kizan growled menacingly at his words
