Hi, everyone! This one-shot was a request for a continuation of "A Different Happy Ending," where Alena and Gideon are dating, and Killian is in overprotective dad mode. I hope y'all enjoy!

P.S. This story turned into a multi-shot, and you guys will see the other part soon :)

Alena and Gideon were sitting on the swing on her parents' front porch. He had one arm wrapped around her waist and held her hand with the other.

She then commented, "I can't believe it's already been two years since the Black Fairy was defeated."

"And since you returned my heart," he added with a smile before he kissed her forehead.

Alena smiled back at him. She then offered, "I just thought you deserved a second chance."

"And I'll be forever grateful that you did," Gideon told her, letting go of her hand to run his fingers through her blonde hair.

Alena smiled at him once more before she began to chuckle, earning a curious look from her boyfriend.

"What's so funny?" he then asked.

She sobered and took a breath before she told him, "It's just that I never expected that we," motioning between the two of them, "would ever fall in love."

"Which I'm sure has nothing to do with the fact that our fathers were mortal enemies," Gideon offered with a grin. Alena shook her head and rolled her eyes before he continued, "You did return my heart so I could have a second chance with my parents, and I knew I'd never be able to do anything to truly thank you or repay you. But I didn't think it'd go further than gratitude."

"Neither did I - I just did the right thing," Alena added with a shrug.

She then smiled at him and spoke, "Until that Saturday where everyone decided to have breakfast at Granny's..."

"And the only available seat was next to you at the counter," Gideon then interjected, offering her a sweet smile.

Alena happily hummed in response. She then supplied, "And we got to talking, where we realized that we had quite a bit in common with figuring out this world and making up for lost time with our parents."

Gideon kissed her forehead once more before he finished, "And we also realized that we understand each other rather well. And our friendship turned to love."

Alena smiled lovingly at him as she told him, "And being with you has made me so incredibly happy."

Gideon ran his fingers back through her hair, stopping to caress her cheek. He then replied, "And you make me just as happy."
