"Just golf, Killian. I feel like we've been at this hole forever," she then told him. She then glanced behind them and added, "And a family is coming up behind us."

Killian looked in that direction and saw two small children running to the first hole as their parents rushed after them. He chuckled at the sight.

He then turned back to Emma and pointed out, "Alas, love, you are the one who told those stories."

"Only because you wanted to hear them," she refuted as she crossed her arms over her chest.

He only shrugged. He then repositioned his club and finally swung.

To his surprise - and Emma's - the ball landed directly in the hole. He then turned to face her as he wore a playful grin.

"Well, Swan, it seems as if you really are my good luck charm." He then tapped his finger against his cheek.

Emma smiled and shook her head, a light blush staining her cheeks.

She then pushed her hair off her shoulders before she placed her ball on the ground. She took a calming breath before the club connected with the ball.

It rolled through the obstacles before it landed a few inches from the hole.

Emma looked on with disappointment as she sighed. She then told him, "I can't pretend that I didn't want to edge you out."

Killian couldn't help but grin as he teased, "I could just as easily be your good luck charm, love."

His eyebrows then shot up in surprise when she began to laugh. She even covered her mouth so she wouldn't draw attention to herself.

When she finished, he stared at her in utter confusion. He then said, "I must confess I'm at a total loss."

"I know. I'm sorry," Emma began. She took a breath before she continued, "Let me just get this shot really quick, and I'll tell you."

As promised, she hastened over to her ball and almost instantly sank it without even trying.

"How did you bloody do that?" Killian questioned as he gestured between her and the hole.

She held up her index finger and said, "One question at a time, Killian. Just one."

He held up his hands in surrender as he replied, "Apologies, love." She offered him a nod and a reassuring smile in response.

The two of them then picked up the brightly colored balls and ambled over to the next hole.

She then clarified, "The reason I laughed is just the whole irony of the situation. It really is funny if you think about it."

"As usual, love, I'm going to need a bit more information," Killian commented as he peered down at her.

She smiled at him - a nervous sort of smile - before she explained, "It's just everything, you know? I couldn't stand you when we first met - and it was partially because you can read me so well - but then we somehow became best friends. I guess stranger things have happened, but it's still not exactly expected in real life."

Killian couldn't help but chuckle. He then offered, "When you put it like that, it is rather humorous."

"See?" Emma declared, a triumphant note to her voice. She paused before she continued, "But then things got...complicated - mostly due to the fact that I'm an oblivious idiot - but now, we're okay. Even though I still don't know what the hell I'm supposed to feel or how I even feel. Or anything, really, but..."
