Music was blasting, and my guests were dancing, jumping, and screaming. There were over 30 kids, and more kept piling through the door. One after another; whenever I seemed to look up from the corner I was hiding out in.
Kylie and I had been sitting in that corner, chewing our nails, scared out of our minds like little kids for over an hour.
"This is stupid," She murmured, "I should've never let him get away with this."
"It's just a party, Ky", I say, smugly, "Maybe it's not as bad as we thought".
"You're acting Aaron", She pouts, "Wait a minute...Ri".
"What now?", I ask, blinking twice.
"Tell me no", She says, raising her eyebrows and smirking.
"No what?".
"You don't like Aaron", She states, "Right...?".
I hesitate. Kylie stares at me, her mouth hanging open, and her eyes wide.
"Riley!", She cries, "I can't believe you like my brother".
I slap a hand over her mouth. She grins, embarrassed.
"If the music wasn't so freaking loud", I say, closing my eyes, "Everyone would know that I like him".
"Like who?".
Aaron
I blush. Kylie giggles and I grin, awkwardly.
"Nobody", We say in unison, smiling.
"Huh", He says, shrugging, "I thought you were dating that guy".
I look at him, oddly, "What guy? I am not dating anyone!".
"So, he's your ex?". Poor Aaron looks so confused.
I'm sure I do, too.
"Who? Where?", I ask, freaking out.
That's when I see him. Parker Hendrick is at my 14th birthday party.
"Ahn", Aaron mumbles, "It's not a big deal".
Kylie squeezes my shoulder. I smile, nervously, up at her.
"Well, my birthday's officially ruined", I say, frowning.
Kylie's not listening to me, she's watching Aaron. In fact, she's watching Aaron dig through the trashcan.
"So frickin' cute", She says, "Huh, Ri?".
"As long as he doesn't rub garbage all over his clothes", I say, smiling, "Then yes. Yes, he's a hottie".
"Eww", Kylie snorts, "My brother-a hottie".
Just then, Aaron screams something that makes everyone start going crazy.
"What did he say?", I ask, elbowing Kylie.
"Shit," She replies, "Shit."
"What?", I ask, the suspense growing on me.
Aaron repeats himself, even louder; making the room get even louder with cheering. And this time I hear every word he says.
"Who wants to play Spin The Bottle?!".
