Chapter 26

A week after Christmas

Horoki was playing with Saint, his kitten, and was interrupted by Jiro. "Hey Horoki, Lincoln is downstairs, he wants to talk to us." She said. "I'll be right back little buddy." He said booping her nose. "Don't go sucking face with her." A voice said. He looked around and turned around. "D-Did you say something..?" Horoki asked. "Wow, you do have a brain in there." The small kitten said. Horoki felt the blood leave his head and he fell to the floor, fainting.

He felt some slapping on his face and noticed the grey brindle cat pawing at him. "Oh whew! I thought it was real." He said. "It was real dumbbell." The kitten said. Horoki scrambled to get up, "how is this possible?!" He said with a worried tone. "Really? In a world of super heroes, you have a tough time believing a talking cat? You have a human bird down there and you're confused about a talking feline?" She asked. "I mean...I guess?" Horoki said. The kitten sighed, "well you should go downstairs. You're needed, but be back soon!! I don't like being alone..." she muttered, saying the last part quietly. Horoki went downstairs and saw everyone stare at him. "Took you long enough." Liam said. "I took a nap." Horoki lied as he naturally breathed. "well now that Horoki is here I got some news. Due to the sudden rise in villain activity. They're allowing first year students to do work studies. Only problem? Is that you have to find an agency that allows you to work. Most don't because well, you are all children." Lincoln said, looking at the students. "But we fought villains!!" Mina said with a pout. "The teachers and heroes don't want to be responsible if something happened to you. I wouldn't even forgive myself." Lincoln said. "So what do you suggest?" Todoroki asked. "Well, it's your call really. Personally I don't want you guys going out and risking your necks. Except for the fact that this will make you better heroes." Lincoln said. "It's your choice." He said as he went outside and closed the door behind him. Horoki then dashed up to his room and closed the door behind him. "Does anyone else know you can talk?" He asked. "Just you dumbbell." She meowed. "Did you talk when Todoroki found you?" He asked. "What part of 'just you' didn't you understand stupid?" She said. "Jeez you're an ass. Good thing you're cute." Horoki muttered angrily. Another knock was heard on Horoki's door and he opened it, showing Todoroki. "Are you coming with me to see my father for the work study?" He asked. "You think your dad will take us?" Horoki asked. "Well, he wants to me to surpass him. Plus he likes you so I wouldn't be shocked if he said yes." Todoroki said. "Oh awesome! Ok I'll be there then!" Horoki said smiling. He then turned around to see a sad Saint, giving some sad kitten eyes. "Y-You're leaving a-again?" She asked with a sad tone in her voice. "Oh don't give me that face." Horoki said. She began to give a trembling lip and started to sniff. "I'll have someone take care of you." Horoki said as he dashed out the door again. "Jiro!!" He shouted. "Think you can take care of Saint for me while I go to Endeavor's office?" He asked. "I planned to hang out with Kirishima, Bakugo, Mina and Kaminari today." Jiro said. Horoki gave her the old razzle dazzle, a sad look combined with trembling lips and watery eyes. "Noooo." She said trying to cover his eyes, he persisted and she groaned, "ok fine! I'm getting Mina to help me though." She said with a pout. "You're the best!" He said as he kissed her cheek and ran our the door with Todoroki. She sighed and went to the room to get Saint. "Well, looks like I'm stuck with you." Jiro said. "You say that like it's a bad thing!" Saint meowed. Jiro jumped back and stared at her. "Y-You talk?!" Jiro shouted. "Why is everyone shocked by this?" Saint said. Jiro picked her up and ran downstairs. "Saint can talk!!!" She shouted, holding the cat up as if she was chosen to lead a kingdom. "I think Jiro lost it." Sato said. "She lost it when she decided to date Horoki." Mineta said. She promptly then put her ear jack in Mineta's ear, to which he screamed for forgiveness. "It's true!" The cat meowed. Everyone stared in absolute shock. "So can you put me down?" Saint asked. Jiro put her down and everyone in the house at the time crowded around the new kitten. Bakugo simply growled, "it's a stupid flea bag that can talk big deal. We have Tsu who's a literal frog and Tokoyami that's a bird. Why are you guys so excited?" Bakugo said. "See this guy gets it!" Saint said. "Hey! Wait a minute!!" She added.
