Chapter 46

Horoki trained with Aizawa early in the morning, with each practice, Horoki felt himself improve on his combat without using his quirk. "You have gotten used to the strength of yourself without your quirk. There's something we can work on to start with your quirk." Aizawa said. "What could that be?" Horoki asked. "Go into your smoke form." Aizawa said. Horoki did as he was told and went into his smoke form. Aizawa then had a water bottle in his hand, "catch it." Aizawa said. He then threw it and Horoki attempted to catch it but it went right through his hands. "We will try for this as long as you can maintain this form." Aizawa said. For a solid 10 minutes, Horoki failed to try and catch this water bottle before beginning to cough some blood. He got out of his form and tried to regain some composure. "You were able to push me using your smoke form as force of nature, but using a humanoid smoke form? It seems you lack the control." Aizawa said. "Any ideas on how to help?" Horoki asked. "There's nothing I can teach you. I do know a student that had a similar problem, there's a chance he can help you." Aizawa said. They went to see Mirio who was working out in the gym, he turned and saw Aizawa and Horoki. "Eraserhead! Horoki! How are you guys?" Mirio asked in a cheerful tone. "We're good Mirio. How is everything?" Aizawa asked. "I'm doing the best I can. What do I owe this visit?" Mirio asked. Aizawa cleared his throat and looked at Horoki, who just looked at Aizawa with a confused look. "I'm not gonna hold your hand. Tell him what you need training with." Aizawa said. Horoki felt his cheeks get red and looked Mirio, "how are you able to grip things when your quirk was giving you trouble?" Horoki asked. Mirio then placed his hand on his chin, "hm, well practice obviously. Are you asking mechanically how I did it?" Mirio asked. Horoki gave a simple nod. "Well, an exercise that I did to help was catching a ball with the hand that I would try and phase with." Mirio said. Horoki nodded, "so catch a ball with my shadow hand?" Horoki asked. Mirio nodded and Aizawa thanked him, he then checked the watch. "We should get ready for school." Aizawa said. Horoki nodded and turned to go get ready but stopped himself, "Aizawa, think I can have the weekend off?" Horoki asked. "Well, I needed to help Eri, do you think you can help with that?" Aizawa asked. "Yeah, I can help." Horoki said. "I'll pick her up at night. Go get ready." Aizawa said.

At School

Aizawa and Lincoln were debating on what should the course be for today. "I think the students should work on stamina today. See how long they can hold their quirks from when they were at the camp." Lincoln said. "It would be better if they did sparring today in their costumes. Have a more realistic fight against each other and see what improved." Aizawa said. "Hmmm ok fine. We'll do your thing." Lincoln said, knowing he wasn't gonna win any argument against Aizawa. The two then randomized the sparring and up first was Bakugo and Liam. Liam's new costume consisted of some grey metal armor on his chest and arms. In the back of his waist was a button he could press that would drop the armor he has on his arms and chest for a faster fighting style. He also had matching metal pants with a cloth that was around his waist that when down to his ankles. The cloth was red with a Japanese symbol that said "warrior". Bakugo and Liam were at ends of the arena, Bakugo grinning from ear to ear knowing he'll make Liam pay for making him look like a fool a few days prior. Liam was hitting his fists together, creating a resonating sound of metal against metal to hype himself up. "Begin!" Aizawa shouted. Bakugo charged first using quirk and tired to throw a punch at Liam, who promptly dodged back and kept his hands up. Bakugo tried throwing punches at Liam but it was either blocked or he dodged. Lincoln smiled and chuckled, "there we go, playing defensive." He said, Aizawa silently writing in his clipboard. Bakugo then threw a punch that took him a bit too long to recover. He then gave three solid hooks to Bakugo's face, causing him to stumble back. Liam proceeded to gut punch Bakugo, who felt the wind leave his body. Liam then lifted Bakugo with his fist and slammed him into the ground. Bakugo got up and saw Liam charging with a power punch, he dodged and used the explosion to send Liam in the air. He jumped and used his hands to form another signature move of Bakugo, Armor Piercing Shot. The bullets hit Liam square in the chest and pushed him to the ground where a crater formed, he tried to get up but Bakugo used his explosion to propel him down and punch Liam in the face. The dust cleared and Bakugo was standing victorious over Liam's body, who was breathing softly. "Bakugo wins." Aizawa said, Lincoln walked over and picked up Liam. "You did good champ, you did good." Lincoln said as he carried him to the nurse's office. Horoki glared at Horoki, Horoki stared back at Bakugo. Bakugo then went back to the locker room to shower and up next was Kaminari and Horoki.
