Chapter 83

Horoki woke up and rubbed his eyes, he turned his phone on and saw that it was September 24, his birthday. Horoki smiled a small bit, "aww yeah, a day where the best student is Class 1A was born. Nice." Horoki said as he got dressed. He brushed his teeth and went downstairs to see everyone packing up. "Whoa what's going on?" Horoki asked. Liam passed by, "Aizawa called everyone to the school right now. Seems like he's got another exercise for us with Class 1B." Liam said. "Oh...ok then, guess I get to see Lily again so that's nice." Horoki said. He followed Liam out and Jiro, who was close behind looked down and held her bag a bit tighter.

The students met Aizawa in the forest and the students looked around. "What are we doing here?" Sero asked. "You will be doing 'Capture the Flag' with the teams that you were with last time." Aizawa said. "Horoki and Lily high fived each other and Jiro just mumbled angrily to herself. Liam smiled and looked at Jiro. "You ok?" He asked. "Huh? Yeah. I'm fine." She said quickly.

"The rules are rather simple, both teams have to capture the enemy's flag and place it next to their flags." Aizawa said. "How can you tell which team wins if we're out in this forest?" Liam asked. "We'll be using drones to monitor your performances. Plus the drones will announce the winner if you capture their flags since there's a special beacon on the flag at the bottom of the pole that is synced with the drones." Aizawa explained. "Ok, first up is Horoki's team vs Midoriya's team." Aizawa said as he looked at his clipboard. Horoki, Liam and Jiro's face quickly sunk and they gulped loudly. "Can't be that bad." Lily said. Horoki then pointed to Todoroki who was chilling with Momo, Bakugo, who looked at them with a sinister grin and evil smile. Finally, Midoriya who smiled cheerfully at them. "We are screwed." Jiro said.

The four got together around their flag and discussed a plan. "Ok, so Bakugo is probably gonna charge in and try to capture our flag, we need to set up some defenses." Horoki said. "Why not set some traps in the trees? Chances are he'll go high." Jiro said. "Good call." Horoki responded. "What about Midoriya? He's super fast and he might join with him." Lily asked. "Right. Chances are he might join and we'll have to defend against both." Horoki said, running his hand through his hair. "So what now?" Liam asked. "We should booby trap our flag. We could use your bandages as some trip wire." Lily said. "Alright I like that." Horoki said. "I can use my ear jacks to figure out where they're coming from." Jiro said. "Right! Ok so we got a pretty solid defense. I just need someone to stay back with Jiro." Horoki said. "Wait, what's that supposed to mean?" Jiro asked. "You don't think I can defend this flag by myself?" She added. "Uh oh." Liam said. "No it's not that, it's just that Midoriya and Bakugo are way too strong for you to handle by yourself. We need another person to help you." Horoki said. "Well, I was gonna suggest for you to stay back Horoki." Lily said. "Huh?!" He shouted, looking insulted. "No offense but Liam is the quickest one here. Plus with my portals, we can teleport him from the enemy base to our base in a few seconds. I just need to place a well placed portal there." Lily said. "Sounds like a smart plan." Liam chimed in. "Ok, wish us luck." Lily said as her and Liam ran off into the woods, leaving Horoki and Jiro to themselves. The two stood there awkwardly, not knowing what to say. Horoki opened his mouth but Jiro spoke up, "I'm gonna go and try to find their location. Go set the traps up." Jiro said, walking away and placing her ear jacks on the ground. Horoki sighed and climbed the trees and used his bandages as trip wires. "Since I'll be using these bandages as traps, I won't have them available for fights." He muttered. He then looked over at Jiro who was concentrating on the noise, all she heard was birds chirping. She then perked up, "coming up ahead!" She shouted. Horoki drew the arrow back and had some of his bandage wrap attached to it. "Where?" He shouted. She pointed and he fired an arrow near a tree and pulled the string back, he suddenly felt some forced and caught something. He jumped from tree to tree and wrapped the target in his wraps. He came down and saw his cocoon that wrapped around the attacker, he took his knife out and cut the top part of the wrap and opened the bandages, showing that it wasn't Bakugo, but Midoriya. "Darn...good trap." He said. "Wait. If you're here then wh-" Horoki was suddenly interrupted when Bakugo slammed into ground near them, using his explosions to suppress his landing but also damaging Jiro's ears. She screamed and pulled them back, covering her ears. Horoki looked at him and took out his knives, "step aside chump. I'm taking your flag." Bakugo said with a grin. "Over my dear body." Horoki said, bracing for a fight. "I was hoping you would say that." Bakugo replied. He then charged at Horoki and swung his fist, connecting with Horoki's side. He grunted and took the blow, swinging his knife at Bakugo's gauntlet, trying to mess it up so he couldn't use it. Bakugo grabbed Horoki's knife and tried to fight for power. The two were in a standstill as they tried to take control of the knife, Bakugo then used an explosion and launched Horoki into the air where Bakugo punched him into a tree. Horoki went through a tree with ease and got up, grunting in pain. He took out his bow and began firing, Bakugo used the trees to hide from Horoki. Horoki couldn't get a clear shot on Bakugo and he was getting increasingly frustrated, he then fired ahead and hit a stun arrow on Bakugo, causing him to crash to the ground. Bakugo tried to get up and Horoki stepped on his back, aiming his arrow at Bakugo. "Stay down, final warning." Horoki said. Jiro came over and tied Bakugo up, holding her ears. "That doesn't look good." Horoki said as she saw Jiro's ears bleeding a bit. "I'm ok, thanks for asking." Jiro said, clearly annoyed at Horoki's obliviousness to her getting hurt. A portal opened up next to Horoki, Liam and Lily jumped out with the flag in their hands. "We got it!" Liam said smiling. "Thanks to yours truly." Lily added with a bow. The two ran over and placed the flag next to the their flag and waited for the drone to announce that they won. They waited and waited but nothing. "Maybe the drones don't work?" Liam asked. "Of course they work! They're flying right now!" Horoki shouted. "Something must be wrong then." Jiro said as she looked at the flag. She checked it and everything seemed to be good, she then picked up the flag and checked the bottom, nothing was there. "Bring me our flag." She said to her teammates. Lily grabbed their flag and compared the two, it was obvious that one had the beacon and the other didn't. "You grabbed the wrong flag?!? How is that even possible!?!" Horoki shouted angrily at Liam. "It ain't my fault!! There was only flag! Lily and I grabbed it and we dipped!!" Liam shouted back. "Horoki calm down, it's not Liam's fault." Jiro said. "It is! If I didn't have to baby sit you then I could've done the job myself!!" Horoki shouted. "I'm sorry, what did you say?" Jiro said, raising an eyebrow. Bakugo, Midoriya, Liam and Lily looked at each other and then at Horoki, as if he just signed his death warrant. "I didn't mean that. I meant to say-" the group was then ambushed by rising ice and was knocked off their feet. "Calvary is here!!" Momo shouted. She came down and cut Midoriya and Bakugo free. "Dammit!! Momo made a copy of the flag to fool Liam and Lily!!"
Horoki thought to himself. Momo grabbed the flag and handed it to Bakugo. "Take it and run! We can hold them off!" She shouted. "No!" Horoki shouted as he tried to get flag before leaving. Suddenly a wall of fire appeared before him, causing him to stop dead in his tracks. Liam dashed forward, avoiding the fire and chased after Bakugo. Bakugo looked back and saw Liam catching up, "give us that flag!!" He shouted as he jumped from tree to tree. Bakugo then grabbed onto a branch and pulled it back, he then let go and the branch smashed into Liam's face, splinters and pieces of wood got into his face and he fell to the ground, writhing in pain. Bakugo secured the flag and their team won the match.
