Chapter 84

Horoki followed Toga to the villain hideout and walked in. The rest of the villains looked over to see Horoki looming behind Toga. "Look what the cat dragged in." Dabi said. "Wow it's Horoki." Spinner said. "I was wondering where he ran off to." Compress muttered. "I'm back aren't I?" Horoki said with some sass in his voice. Toga hugged him tightly and smiled, "I'm glad you're back!" She said with an adorably insane smile. "Well you're just in time to talk about some developing news." Shigaraki said. "Which is?" Horoki asked, raising an eyebrow. "It appears the substitute teacher of U.A Academy killed Sumbo. Lincoln Colt is his name. You know him don't you Horoki?" Shigaraki asked as he looked over to him. Horoki leaned on a wall and crossed his arms. "Of course, he's a substitute teacher." Horoki said. "I don't get it. These heroes can get away with anything! Stain is right." Spinner growled. "So how did he die?" Compress asked. "Lincoln shot him. Sumbo and I were trying to test the Nomu's out and he saw us. We tried our best but Sumbo wasn't fast enough. Lincoln filled his body with lead." Dabi said. He then glanced over at Horoki. "I heard some commotion and saw the flames while I was watching the fight. I can confirm that Lincoln did kill Sumbo." Horoki said. The group stood in silence, "what do we do? Do we hunt Lincoln down? Make an example of him?" Spinner asked. "His time will come. I'll make sure of it." Shigaraki said. "I actually wanted to ask Horoki when he's gonna start helping us out." Shigaraki said as he looked at Horoki. "You've been spending a lot of time with the heroes that I feel like we don't recognize you." He added. "Want me on the weekends? I can help stir some trouble up." Horoki said as he looked up to meet Shigaraki's gaze. "Come back here on Friday. I got an idea that might work and I'll need you to help." Shigaraki said. Eventually, Shigaraki told everyone to keep a low profile and clear out. Before he could leave, Dabi stopped Horoki. "So, exactly where did Lincoln shoot Sumbo? If you don't mind me asking. After all you did say you saw it." Dabi asked. "Lincoln just fired all over Sumbo's chest. Certainly didn't get third degree burns from head to toe." Horoki rebutted. Dabi backed off and walked away. Horoki exhaled and went back to home where he snuck into his room and sleep.

The Next Day

Horoki skipped breakfast and went to school, mostly to avoid confronting the girls. Eventually the rest of the class came in. Jiro hid her face from Horoki and the rest of the girls glared at him. He felt their eyes burn into his head and he kept quiet, the boys looked at them and they just sat down. "What the hell happened?" Kirishima asked. "I got no clue man. I heard there was a fight between Jiro and Horoki." Liam said. "It seems like he did something way more if he's got every single girl against him." Kirishima replied. The class stood straight when Aizawa came in, "morning class, I hope all of you are having a good day." He said, not looking at them. "Some news, Lincoln Colt had his test /scheduled sometimes next month, if he passes, he can come back to teaching and be a full hero." Aizawa said. The class talked excitedly amongst themselves. "Lincoln could come back?!" Hagakure said. "Awesome!! Can't wait to see him again!" Sato said. "It would be good to see him again, he's got much to teach us." Tokoyami said. "He needs full attention to the test so do not bother him." Aizawa said. "Now, we will be doing some more sparring. This time, we will do a 'King of the Hill' style sparring. I'll call two people up, winner of that will stay in the arena. Tokoyami, Aoyama are up first." Aizawa said, looking at the clipboard. The class eventually got dressed for the sparring matches. Horoki sat alone in the bleachers while everyone was grouped up in their groups. Liam looked over and walked to Horoki, "what happened man?" He asked. "I rather not talk about it." Horoki said. "Dude you're gonna have to spill eventually." Liam replied. "And if I told you what was bothering me, what would you do? Look at me with that dumb look you give me all the time?" Horoki snapped at Liam. Liam backed off and walked back to his group. "Ok so he's agitated as hell." He muttered. "Fuck it, I'll just talk to the girls. See what they have to say." He said to Kirishima, Sato and Shoji. "Hey guys, what the hell happened to Horoki?" He asked. "Why? Did he not tell you what he did wrong?" Momo said. "Ok seriously someone tell me what's going on. I have no clue what's happening." Liam said. "Jiro and Horoki got into a super big fight, I...actually think it's over between them." Hagakure said. "Whaaat? No way! Horoki loves the hell out of Jiro." Liam said with a small laugh, waiting for them to just say the actual punchline. Mina got up and took him to the side. Jiro said that she found Lily on top of Horoki, she tried to say it wasn't what it looked like but she ignored her. Horoki and Jiro got into a heated argument where Horoki lost his cool and scared the crap out of her. It just seems like he's having more fun with Lily than Jiro." Mina said. "Ohhhh, that's why? Lily and Horoki are just friends though, was there any kissing?" Liam asked. "Not that I recall." Mina said. "What about clothes being removed, she see them naked?" Liam asked. "No..." Mina continued to answer. "So I think Jiro might've blown it out of proportion." Liam said, not watching what he said. "Hey, she had every right to be worried. I would be upset if you just started talking to another girl and had her top you." Mina said angrily. "Hey! I'm just trying to see it from the guy's perspective! I don't think Horoki did anything wrong. The two should just talk it out." Liam said. Mina looked over at Jiro, who just stayed quiet and didn't bat an eye to the girls trying to cheer her up. Liam sighed, "I'll sit down with the guys. Hopefully Horoki is gonna want to open up after this." Liam said. Mina nodded and sat back down with the girls.

The class continued, Todoroki held the title the longest, but was beaten by Bakugo, then Bakugo lost to Midoriya who then lost it to Liam. Liam then lost to Momo, who was the second to last person to participate. "It seems like Arashi is up next." Aizawa said. Horoki looked at Momo as he got into the arena. She took out a bow staff and readied it. Horoki took his bow and knives out but tossed them aside from the arena. "What's going on?" Sato asked. "Beats me." Kaminari asked. "Why are you throwing away your weapons?" Momo asked. Horoki simply stayed quiet and wrapped his bandages around his wrists and was waiting for the call to start. Aizawa rang the bell and Momo charged, swinging the bow staff down at Horoki, who simply side stepped the attack. Momo continued the the attacks to try and get Horoki to do something but he was just simply dodging, as if mocking her. "This really the best the princess of U.A can do?" Horoki scoffed. She growled and swung at Horoki's cheek. He faded through the attack and raised his arms, walking through Momo. The class gasped as they saw the bandages hold Momo in place. In one swift motion, Horoki threw Momo out of bounds. The bell rang, signaling that Horoki won. "That's enough for today." Aizawa said. He then saw Horoki take his things and walk away. He ran over to Horoki and placed a hand on his shoulder. "What's wrong?" Aizawa asked. "Let go." Horoki said. "This isn't how you act Horoki." Aizawa continued. Horoki simply muscled forward, forcing Aizawa's hand away from his shoulder.

Class ended and Horoki just out with his head down. "Hey Horoki!" Lily shouted as she came from behind, "listen, can we t-"

"I'd prefer if you didn't talk to me for a bit. I'm going through things right now." Horoki muttered, interrupting Lily's sentence. "Oh...ok well, I'll text you later then?" She asked. "Meh." Horoki said, walking off. His phone rang and it was a message from Hawks. "Meet me at this address." And he sent the address of the meet up. Horoki texted "k" and went on his way to meet his idol.

At the Meeting Point

Hawks was looking out the window when he saw the smoke coming from the bottom of the door. "Glad you could make it." Hawks said. "What's wrong? You seem glum." He said. "Girl trouble. I don't wanna get into it." Horoki said. "Ok then. Listen, got some info on what they might have you do." Hawks said. "And what would that be?" Horoki asked. "Remember that Stain guy a couple months back?" Hawks said. "Yeah, the Hero Killer." Horoki said with a nod, "wait, they don't want me to take his place right?" Horoki asked. "Nah nah, you're gonna try and play vigilante." Hawks said. "Vigilante? How does this help the villains?" Horoki asked. "Like I said, I don't know, it's just the bit of info I had heard. Come Friday though and I'm sure they'll give you the full details." Hawks said. Horoki gave a soft nod. "Listen kid, you're young, girls come and go so don't even worry about it. Just take it easy, and smoke a joint, it's what I would do if I'm having an off day." Hawks said with a laugh. Horoki smiled softly, "I'll think about it." Horoki said with a small laugh. The two parted ways and Horoki went home.

Once he arrived home. The guys stood there and looked at him, "we gotta talk man." Liam said. Horoki rolled his eyes, "look, I really don't want to." Horoki said, he was then stopped by Shoji and Sato. "Really?" He asked. "Just for a few minutes." Todoroki said. "Ugh...fine." Horoki said with an annoyed look. The boys then went outside in the patio. He told them about how it was his birthday yesterday and how no one wished him a happy birthday. He was really annoyed that the team lost to Midoriya, Bakugo, Todoroki and Momo, and felt guilty about snapping at Jiro. It escalated more when Lily was the only one to wish him a happy birthday and just tease him. Jiro walked in and saw the situation and slapped Lily. Horoki tried to explain but Jiro slapped him too. He got annoyed that Jiro after all this time, Jiro didn't trust him. He then thought it was because they still saw him as a villain. The boys stood there quietly, not knowing what to say. "Wow...dude that's rough, I'm sorry." Liam said. "Do the girls know your side of the story?" Sero asked. "No. They just assumed I'm in the wrong and it honestly pisses me off. How much more do I gotta prove to them?" Horoki said. "Look, give it time and they'll forget it." Liam said. "Yeah, like that will happen." Horoki said getting up and heading to his room. He laid in bed and felt some soft purring, he looked over to see Saint. Saint then laid next to Horoki and smiled, "hey daddy." She said with a smile. "Hey there kiddo." Horoki said as he rubbed her head gently. "Are you and mommy fighting?" She asked. "It's just one of those days Saint." He whispered, Saint yawned and huddled next to Horoki and slept peacefully. Horoki felt some tears develop but pushed his emotions in, closing his eyes and going to sleep.
