Sherlock and John quietly jog back down the passage heading back towards the drain to meet back up with the oncoming Inspector and the police force, their little yet brightening torch lights attached to their left shoulders.
Sherlock:
Sshhh! Stop John! Stop! Something isn't right!
John:
What?
Sherlock:
Let me think a sec.
He pauses for a moment, thinking deep in mind around the surrounding area, the feeling of someone heading down the opposite passage and approach. The presence of a dominating shadow heading down the corner and growing. The figure has headed around the corner and begins marching down the underground path, another balaclava man Sherlock feels. Then, he quietly begins whispering to John.
These holes in the walls! Into them!
He pushes John into one of them as they scurry into them, protecting them clearly from cover and hiding them excellently. Another dark and musky area in the sewers, still stinking of poop or any other disposable waste.
John:
Eeesh! Stinks! Why would there be these secret holes in the underground anyway?
Sherlock:
Just shut up John! Ssshhh!
The next balaclava man heads around the corner before a voice cries out from the other end.
Inspector Lestrade:
Hey! HEY YOU!
The balaclava man dives into the corner for cover instantly. The Inspector and the force hide behind their corner on the other side of the sewer tunnel. Lestrade hides next to the corner, and the rest of the team hold their guns up ready for a possible attack necessary.
That was clearly one of the men.
Officer 1:
One of the men the lad in the hospital described?
Inspector Lestrade:
Which he is in hospital for.
Officer 1:
Well he knows we are here sir, shall we?
Inspector Lestrade:
We don't know what he might use as a weapon. Besides, Sherlock and John might have a plan.
Officer 1:
We could sneak around and if we are given any hostile action then we will open fire.
Inspector Lestrade:
Right. Off you go chap.
Officer 1:
Me?
Inspector Lestrade:
It's you're idea. And you've got the gun. Go on.
Officer 1:
Ok sir.
He creeps low with the gun, preparing to sneak around. As he gently pokes his head around, followed by the gun he tip-toes back out, until... BANG! BANG! BANG! A pistol fires from the corner! The officer dashes back to return to protected cover. The balaclava man was clearly firing at them! Sherlock and John in their cover turn to one another, knowing that a plan must be formulated.
Sorry sir. Not a chance we can get round there.
Inspector Lestrade:
Don't worry lad. You have the map around there?
