Chapter 18 What the hell

Alyssa got out of the shower and open-ended the closet. She founded a beautiful blue and gold dress.

The young woman ran her fingers over the dress's skirt; the royal blue veil had slightly lighter shades of blue. Aly noticed the gold highlights as she pulled the dress out of the closet. A golden silk belt separated the bustier and the bottom of the dress, royal blue, just as the skirt but with beautiful gold details.

The sleeping beauty curled her hair and did her makeup, as usual.

Then, she drew a black eyeliner and put the gloss on her perfect lips. Then, she got dressed and put her mask on.

She watched the photo of the agent's outfit and printed it in her mind. Then, Alyssa walked to the elevator and went to the gala's room.

Hundreds of beautiful and colorful dresses were dancing in front of Alyssa's ocean eyes. Everyone was wearing a mask, just as she expected. She was looking for a black and silver satin dress. Although dragged on a crowd of people turning off themselves, Aly felt quite uncomfortable.

She walked to the window to take a breath and noticed the black satin dress she was looking for; Aly got closer to the woman and looked at her. Alyssa knew this silky skin and this light brown hair. The woman walked to her, noticing her blue dress.

'That can't be possible...' Goldilocks thought.

The black-dressed woman held a black leather briefcase. Alyssa no longer had any doubts.

'Selena.' she whispered, looking in the other woman's black eyes.

'A... Alyssa?' Selena smiled. Her eyes were getting moist when she understood who was standing in front of her.

'What are you doing here?' Aly asked, needing an explanation.

'I'm the CEO.' The satiny-skinned woman answered.

'That's... that's why you left without saying anything?' Alyssa ironically laughed.

'I was in Alaska the first year, then he sent me to Oakland for a year, and after I threatened him, he sent me to New York,' Selena explained.

'Why did h...'

'He was scared, I think.' The light brown-haired woman explained. 'We... I know you're mad at me. But don't you want to talk about that with a cream coffee. It's been so long, and this mission is stupid anyway.' Selena proposed.

'I... alright,' Alyssa answered.

'In one hour? In the hall?' She said as she gave her the briefcase.

'Yeah.' Aly replied.

Selena suddenly hugged her best friend.

She had been deprived of her sister for so long that she didn't think and hugged her back. Although she might be mad at Selena for abandoning her, Aly would never hate her. It's a part of their work. Sometimes they have to go where they don't want to and can't say anything. They separated to went to their room. Alyssa took off her blue dress to wear a simple casual outfit before joining Selena in the hall.

'Ready?' Alyssa's sister, by heart, shyly stated.

'Yeah... oh, fuck it. I forget my weapon..." the young blondie noticed. 'I'll be back in two minutes.' She declared, walking to her room -again-. She pressed the elevator button.

'Room 5384, right?' The lift operator asked as the doors closed.

'Yes.' Alyssa replied. 'Wait, what?'
