"Where did mom and dad go?" patuksong tanong ni Shani. Si Shani ay secretary ng CFO, naging kaibigan ko na din sa duration ng pagtatrabaho namin. We're at the same age kaya hindi naging mahirap.

"Huh?"

Shani rolled her eyes. Ma-attitude talaga mga tao dito!

"I mean, you and Mr. Ambrosia."

"Oh. Just a lunch outside."

"Naks. A date?" nanunuksong tingin niya.

"I told him that and he told me to shut up." I replied and Shani laughed.

"Saan kayo nag-date, parents?"

"Gaga ka talaga. Sa restaurant ni Chef Zandro."

She swooned. "Hala, si pogi! Kamusta siya? Bat di kayo nagpicture?"

"We were eating! And I won't ask for his picture noh."

"Para sa'kin naman iyon. Anyway, naka-book na tayo for New York ha. Magpaalam ka na ng leave."

Thanatos without me? I wonder how he could handle that. Also, paano ako magpapaalam. I think he wouldn't allow me pero i-push through ko na lang siguro hanggang sa pumayag siya.

"Oo, Shani. Never ko pa namang nagamit yung leave ko. Maybe it's time." Never pa akong magtake ng day off dahil nga kailangan kong sabayan si Thanatos sa lifestyle niya. "at dapat, VL with pay."

"Haynako, I want your job."

"Nah, you don't."

"Of course I don't. Your boss is scary."

Thanatos Ambrosia

"Hey kuya! Are you listening?" malakas ang boses ni Eros sa video call. Nakapolo itong midnight blue at naka-wayfarer.

"I was. Are you done disturbing me? I have work, Eros." Why are they such a pest? Kanina si Zandro, ngayon naman ang kapatid niyang si Eros. Mukha itong chill na chill kung nasaan man ito.

"Where's Aleera pala?"

He took a peek at her cubicle. "She's working. Why?"

"Invite her too, sabi ni Hermes. You know the whole family loves her. Sino palang date mo?"

"She says she'll go. And I don't have a date."

"Good. Treat her nicely, Thanatos. Isipin mo may nakatagal sa'yo." Tumawa ito.

Aleera had been nothing but perfect. Nang dumating ito ay gumaan ng 50% ang trabaho niya. The first time they met, ang impression niya dito ay ito ang tipo na susuko at sa una lang magaling. Her impression was strong, so he thought it was too good to be true. But he was wrong.

She doesn't make mistakes, and if she had lapses, she fixes it before he could go onto it. Some said he became a little tamed because of her. But he just wanted someone who understands and values his work ethics.

Everyone in the firm loves her. No one questions her work because she does so efficiently and professionally.

"Will she bring a date?"

"I don't know."

"Does she have a boyfriend?"

"I don't think so. She's not allowed to have one. It will distract her from work. Why are you so nosy?" Naiinis siya dahil nasasayang oras niya. Ayaw niyang makipagtsismisan dito.

"What?" Hindi ito makapaniwala sa narinig. "Lay off her, bro. She deserves a lovelife just because you don't have one. Sooner or later, mago-off yan for dates or baka magresign yan to get married."

Saglit siyang natigilan. "That won't happen because it's in her employment contract."

Umiling si Eros. "Rules aren't absolute, man."

Biglang nagulo yung camera. Sumulpot ang mukha ni Helen, ang bunso nila. "Kuya, hello! Musta life?"

"Fine. You?"

"Still the most beautiful person alive." she giggled. "Where's ate Aleera?"

"Working."

"Tell her to come, okay? Be her date if you don't have a plus one. As always." Helen rolled her eyes. She's the youngest sa kanilang magkakapatid. Nag-iisang babae pa ng Ambrosia clan. She has that Audrey Hepburn fashion style but with a daring red lip. 

"You don't have to tell me." Besides, Helen would have his ass.

"Okay, byeee." She ended with a flying kiss.

Pagkababa niya ng telepono ay nakita niya si Aleera sa harap. "Ms. Natividad?"

Mukhang masaya ito at excited. May sasabihin itong importante.

"Sir, can I take a vacation leave?" she had those dooey eyes na para bang wala kang karapatan humindi.

Damn. Ito na ba yun?
