I heaved out a sigh.

Today is not the day of slacking.

I moved the mouse and clicked print. I signed some papers while waiting. From my peripheral vision, I saw a staff entering.

Without looking, I asked. "Yes?" malambing kong tanong.

"U-Uh.. Good morning, po. Pwede daw pong makausap si Sir?" kinakabahan niyang tono.

Nag-angat ako ng tingin. I saw from her ID that she's from Accounting department.

I lended my free hand at inabot niya sa'kin ang mga dala niyang dokumento. She fixed her glasses.

"Is it good news?" 

I flipped through the pages. After scanning the big stack of paper, I smiled sweetly as I gave it to back.

"The CEO is busy. Your job is to make sure you'll come back with good news." I gave an apologetic smile. Napatango lang ito. She thanked me and left.

Sorry, gurl. Pare-pareho lang tayo.

I collected the printed papers and stapled all of them. I moved them aside. Yung ibang papel na kailangan ngayon ay ni-separate ko with paper clips. Gahd, andaming kailangang ayusin.

I took another bite of the salad, also on my table. Buti na lang allowed sa kumpanyang ito ang kumain sa table. As long as you keep it clean.

I hissed a little, bummed that I can't drink coffee because I'm pregnant. Dibale, ang lakas ko naman kumain ngayon. Hindi na rin pwede na hindi ako lumalamon every now and then. Samantalang nung hindi pa ako buntis, I could go on through the day without eating. Hindi ko namamalayan dahil sa dami ng trabaho. 

Hindi pa ako nakakatapos ng isang presentation nang may nakita akong papasok sa office.

"Ops, ops, you're not allowed inside." I lifted my hands to gesture he's not allowed.

Tumayo ako at humarang sa pinto. "Aleera," bati nito at nawala ang mga mata sa pagngiti.

"He's busy, Eros." pagtataboy ko.

"C'mon, we own this company. And kapatid ko siya. I just need to talk to him. I can't reach him kanina pa." he pouted.

"Not today," sagot ko.

Nagpa-cute pa siya.

Umiling ako. "He had strict orders, Sir."

He sighed. "Okay, bukas na lang." I nodded to him.

Naglakad siya paalis. Bago siya lumabas ng pinto, he greeted goodbye. Bumalik ako sa upuan ko. I sighed in relief. Minsan talaga, nagiging bouncer ang role ko.

I took another bit of my salad. Hmm, mag-shawarma kaya ako for lunch?

I reached for the telephone and dialed someone. "Creative Team, Ambrosia Empires, Inc. How may I help you?"

"Hello, good morning. This is Aleera. Dagdag ko lang, hindi ko nabanggit sa email ko," I went on with my request.

The talk was short. Pagkababa ko ng tawag, nakita ko iyong babae kanina.

"M-Ma'am..." sabi lang niya at inabot sa'kin yung paper stack na dala niya.

I took a look once again. I turned my swivel chair to reach for my stamp. I stamped it received with the date today, and I smiled at her.
