ELLIE WASN'T A BIG FAN OF BEING CALLED AT THE COUNCIL OFFICE, CONSULTING HER ABOUT HER COLLEGE APPLICATION. Although it was for the good for her college but the nervous still kept on giving her the chills. She couldn't even fully grasp that one step closer she's going to college. Eleanor waited for Mrs. Kenn to speak but she was busy stapling the papers and jotting down notes.

"Ms. James I could see your application are very..."

"I might say almost perfect."

Ellie wasn't glad to hear that word again."Perfect", she didn't like the word. Most of the students want to hear that compliment. Perfect. Though, that word chains Ellie this couple of years.

It has been one of her struggles until now, trying not to dwell on what other people say or even think about herself. Since the word 'perfect' is one of the factors that triggers her. Sometimes she's being pulled back to do what she really want, because of that word.

"Well...I will be straight forward to you, Ms. James. There's no problem with your grades." Mrs. Kenn took her reading glasses and stared intently at Ellie.

"Your application needs.... embellishments." Ellie was a taken aback by what the lady said. That made her to lean toward the table to explain. But before she could explain she was interrupted by the councilor.

"What are the other extracurricular that you have joined besides tutoring and volunteering at the library?" Ellie frowned with her question. Sure she had join some club wasn't that enough? Ellie thought. Then it hit her.

"Uhm..." she struggled to utter a word not because she never thought about it. The lady in front of her is actually stating the frustrating truth with her college applications.

She never joined any activities that would actually give an edge to her college application both have relevance to her grades and academics.

"Universities like Yale don't just scan the grades of the students they also foresee their interest and hobbies."she explained while taking off her glasses.

"I-I..."

"I advice you to join other activities. Like the musical."

"The musical?"

"The High School Musical: The Musical. Its has been a fuss this morning til now. " then he remembered what his best friend said.

"Pardon me Mrs. Kenn, why would... I mean does my extracurricular is not that satisfying?" there was a hint of hesitance but Mrs. Kenn continued.

" To be straightforward to you it's good but besides on the context that you are good at studying and holding a book. I would want to leave you this question."Ellie nodded and gave her full attention to the question that Mrs. Kenn will give.

"Who is Eleanor James? "

"Class dismissed. Please kindly pass you're assignments to Ms. James." Mr. Sanches reminded as the class dispersed in the room leaving Ellie with a handful of papers in her chest.

Ellie gathered her things and was about to leave but someone called her. It was the transferee student. Gina.

"Can you wait for me? I didn't know that we have assignments." Ellie just nodded and waited for the girl to finish her work. Then she remembered that she wasn't included in the gc of their class.

"There's a group chat in our class. I mean for announcements and assignments. If you like I could add you in our gc."

"Really? That would be great. Thanks..?"

"Ellie. Just Ellie." With that Gina smiled and checked her assignment.

"No need to be pressured. Just take your time."

"I think its fine. Here." Gina handed her assignment to Ellie. Ellie was surprised to see that Gina was tall. Like very tall.

"Thank you, Ellie. " and she is very pretty. Ellie couldn't help but to be intimidated by her.

"You're always welcome." and with that Gina asked Ellie if she could join her at lunch. Ellie was unsure about it at first but she could see that Gina wasn't the type of person who would take a no for an answer.

"Sure." Gina waited for Ellie when she passed their assignments and the two of them headed at the cafeteria.

She and Gina got along well in a peculiar way. Ellie learned more about Gina. Like how she love dancing and performing arts.

"Speaking of dancing, I heard that there will be a High school musical musical. Are you thinking of joining?" Gina grabbed her tray. She handed a tray to Ellie but she kindly refused since she has some snacks in her bag.

"Not that I could think of." Ellie sighed, remembering what Mrs. Kenn said.

"Why not?"

"I don't sing."

"I doubt that. From the tone of voice it sounds like you could sing."

"Not at all." Ellie tried to hide the surprise tone in her voice but failed.

"Such a shame. I myself would join the musical."

"Really?" Ellie asked. "Uhuh." Gina said with a nod.

"Well good luck with the audition."

" I know. But I'm pretty confident that I could nail it though." Ellie sat beside Gina and bringing out her snacks inside her bag. Gina gave her an incredulous look at the number food that Ellie has.

"You can finish this----?" Ellie shook her head instantly. But before she could explain Ty sat beside next to Ellie.

"Can I just die right now? The preparations for the musical are killing me." Ty rest his head to Ellie's shoulder and grabbed some Cheetos.

"You would do great, Ty. Especially in the rehearsals." Ty glared at Ellie who kept on giggling.

"Uhm... Ty meet Gina. Gina meet Ty." Gina extends her arms and Ty with a friendly heart accepted it.

"The transferee, huh." Gina nodded with a smile.

Ellie could read Gina's eyes as if she were left surprise at how handsome Tiberius is. Usually girls fall for him that easily since he has those sparkling hazel eyes and curly hair.

"T? As in the letter?" Gina was a bit confused but Ty explained it while munching some Cheetos Jalapeño. His favorite. Ellie excused herself since her phone rang and received an unknown message with a content:

Ms. James, we are sadly to inform you that you will not be given an available slot due to such inefficiency on your applications. If you'd like reconsider your application...
