Ricky's POV

It was that very day. I stood in her spotless room, her luggage laying above her daisy blanket. Ellie was downstairs preparing some snacks along the way. I felt Pooh licked my index finger when I sat on her bed waiting for Ellie to come back. Pooh blinked as I pet him, I sighed remembering that Pooh will not be able to be with Ellie.

"Oh Pooh..." I heard a knock on the door, expecting a blonde girl but Ty stood there. I nodded at him and responding that Ellie was downstairs. With a minute or two I was expecting him to leave but he stood there. There's something in Ty's personality that I admire the most, first is his undeniably open and straight-forwardness and his love for Ellie. Noticing his gaze,  Ty let out a exhale.

"Don't cry when you arrived the airport." with that he left the room, leaving me and Pooh confuse.

As if it was a dream watching her leaving. Her hand interlocks with mine when my hand met hers she had one of those unreadable expression of hers, not wanting to let go. And the back of my head told me to not let go of this wonderful lady. Ellie wears her usual bright smile as we walk and with that I remember her promise.

"Continue to wear bright clothes while I'm gone?"

People pass by each showing full expression in their faces: sad and joy. But I couldn't pinpoint what Ellie was feeling or what she's showing right now is true.

"Do you have your passport?" I asked and wishing she'd forgotten it,though we both knew she won't. It will only be the whole summer what's wrong with that? I tried to comfort myself as I grab her luggage and wait. She smiled, sweetly. It was one of her smile that made me fall in love with this girl.

"Don't worry, I forgot it." Ellie jokes. The blonde raise her hand holding her passport, I sighed. Her hair ties into a bun, that made me wonder how she did that to look so perfect. I remembered trying to tie her hair and going downhill trying.

"Hey, I'm still gonna call you." Ellie comforts, holding my cheeks. I felt my heart sank as Ellie tried not to cry. I could almost feel my eyes burning, then pinching my nose to stop the tears from falling. Remembering what Ty told earlier.

"I will miss you..." Ellie breathes inside my arms, my chin rested on her head. I shouldn't have done that, I know. Because of me, we're going through this.

"Hey... Don't ever think that it's your fault..." then there I saw her. As if the walls that she made before disappeared. Ellie's brown eyes reveals with such thoughtfulness and love."... what you did, did hurt me and I still love you. And... it just made me realize, it's not just about us. There's more than this."

"Don't go wild when I'm gone." I chuckled at her comment.

"I won't don't worry. You're all I want..."

"Good." I felt my throat dry and was about to pull away when she pulled me into a kiss. Ellie's arms went around my waist and tiptoed. It allowed me to have some time to memorize every beautiful features that I would miss this summer. As if our lips were in sync, I lowered my head as my shoulder curled to embrace Ellie. Her kiss made lightness in my heart that I've always wanted. I could feel her lips slightly shakes, making me pull away to look at her almost red eyes.

If only...

"Okay, go  before I have second thoughts and bring you to Yale." Ellie tries to keep the tears away and laughed at her comment. I grabbed her bags and saw her bid good bye to her parents.

"This is it..." I just nodded not being able to bring myself to say something. Then there was the flight announcer that I was wishing to not speak. I took a deep breath when Ellie grabbed a hold of my hand and pulled a pink paper folded into a heart. The corner of her eyes were light red, she was holding the tears away.

"So far that's my last quote for you, Bowen. See you soon and I love you..."

Third Person POV

As the boy stood there watching the love of his life took every step away, felt like punching his heart. Ricky wondered if she will turn back and hopefully run in his arms. But he knew it wasn't Ellie. He felt his heart leap, when Ellie turns and waved.

"If you're brave enough to say goodbye, life will reward you with a new hello."

A smile form to Ricky's lips as he gaze at the quote that Ellie left Ricky. It was from Paulo Coelho. Ricky takes time to admire Ellie's handwriting, the note that she left the boy did bring him wonder and hope. And Ricky know for sure that he can't wait after this summer.
