Taehyung

"Truth is - " he started, but he was suddenly cut off by his phone ringing. He excused himself when he saw it was his father who had called him. He didn't call him that much, but since he did, he expected it to be some good news. "Hello," he answered with a smile.

"Taehyung-ah," his father whispered on the other line. "Your mother...she has passed away."

Taehyung felt his heart drop right onto the floor. "What?" he squeaked out. "She - she what?"

"She passed away." His voice was shaking and he was obviously trying to hold back his crying.

"I'm coming," Taehyung said, almost about to hang up until he heard his father yelling.

"No!" he yelled. "I'll fly her back home, so no need. We'll bury her at home, it's for the best. And I won't be going back to the states anymore. We'll be flying tonight so we can meet tomorrow. Make sure to get someone to cover your shift so we can plan the funeral."

"Okay," Taehyung whispered as they hung up. He tried not to break down right there in front of Jungkook, who was staring at him intently.

"What's going on?" he asked worriedly as he approached closer, but the elder immediately put his hands up.

"I, uh, I need to go," he mumbled, but Jungkook didn't let him pass.

"Not until you tell me what bad news you just heard," he said, though he seemed to have gotten an idea as soon as he said that. "It's your mother, isn't it?"

Taehyung felt his eyes sting as soon as he mentioned his mother. He didn't want to cry in front of the younger, not as he was about to confess to him. "She..." He tried to put on his tough act, but he couldn't anymore. "She passed away," he whimpered as he broke into a cry. He immediately fell down on the bed, which Jungkook acted on right away and sat down beside him, wrapping his arms around him in an embrace.

Taehyung just rested his face onto him, not able to hold back anymore as he wept on his shoulders.

"I'm so sorry, hyung," Jungkook whispered as caressed him softly on his back and the back of his head. "I can't even imagine what you're going through."

Taehyung didn't want to talk, just cry - just cry and be comforted by Jungkook. He didn't want to leave his warm embrace.

"Do you wanna stay here for tonight? Until you need to leave tomorrow, I mean?" the younger suggested.

This made Taehyung finally raise up his head. "No, I should head home - "

"Really, it's no problem. I'll even call Namjoon and explain what happened and he'll deal with the café. It's tomorrow your father is coming, yeah?"

Taehyung nodded. "Thanks, Jungkookie," he said between his sniffles.

"You're welcome, Taehyungie hyung," he smiled as he wiped his eyes with his thumbs. "I'll find some clothes for you to sleep in and call Namjoon hyung."

Jungkook

After he found a t-shirt and some sweatpants for Taehyung, he left the bedroom. He found Kim Namjoon on his contact and hit the call button.

"Hello?" the other person answered.

"Namjoon hyung?" Jungkook asked, rather impatiently.
